Calycanthus still blooming
Comments (7)The fragrance is certainly different from my wild-type C. floridus, which, to my nose, smells of overripe strawberries. Aphrodite smells more like watermelon or cucumber to me, although I've also read that individual specimens of Aphrodite can vary greatly in the nature of the fragrance, and whether or not they even have any detectable fragrance....See MoreWhat’s still blooming?
Comments (51)Rosapeimula: I only have 2 kordes rose 🌹now: Beverly and summer romance. Bith I got a couple weeks ago at fall sale so I will see. hofelly the will live up to the expectation, healthy, blooming well and well behaving :) primula is a pretty name, the rose has a beautiful color, and it is said both the flowers and leaves are fragrant! Prairiemoon: the pineapple sage is indeed sage. I had to move from the flower side bed to a new one far from the house. It is welcome to take all the space there if it could! Unfortunately no hummingbird. I think they are all gone, bit bees come to it. I thoguht bees are not attracted to red but obviously I wa wrong. Yes the brugs are toxic. I used to grow a lot of them before. When we had our dog, I digged them all. Now with the dog passed I started to grow the brug again. It is really quicknfix in a garden...See MoreNot much rain for my daylilies here, but they are still blooming away
Comments (6)Debra, Cutting Loose has put out some pretty blooms, I really like it so far. another one you sent that is right beside it finally had a decent looking bloom today, but has not opened up yet. Can't remember the name off the top of my head. Both are really short, but I am hoping that will improve next year. Buddy of course is standing up tall! Totally in love the Buddy's Black Eye. I moved Kansas Kitten last year and not happy with the spot I put it. Pretty daylilies should not be hidden, LOL. I may move it in front of Buddy. I had not noticed CP did not show up, should be fixed now, thanks!...See MoreStormy Weather and What's Still Blooming
Comments (9)Hopefully those limbs did not fall into your daylily beds! This season it has been one thing after another! Fighting Fire looks great on rebloom. I love the look of White Ambrosia with all those ruffles. Rose Sensation is not only pretty but a good bloomer, obviously. Blushing Escapade seems to have done well for you. It may send up third rebloom scapes before frost. Mine is finishing its second set of rebloom....See Moreiris_gal
