Many condolences for Jim (Sparky)

Jim, we are very sad to hear about Sparky's passing. She was such a sweet, gentle dog. How can we ever forget the pictures of her saying hello to your bird Rosey, her soft gentle ways. She'd be curled up snuggling, resting with Lacy, your bear cat on your couch, or side-by-side accompanying Candy.

Jim if it is any small comfort, she passed on with you and Sue so close by her and that she had a very, very peaceful going, just like her peaceful loving nature deserved. Jim, you wrote me this, "sparky and us have been through a lot together. she was like our child!" And I say to you that those almost 16 years were very magical years that Sparky treasured in her life with you! You and Sue were both her beloved "companions" just as she was a companion to you.

Sparky is lovingly watching over you and Sue at Rainbow Bridge and she will always be your loving Christmas angel by your side. May your heart be comforted with her presence and all the happy, beautiful times you've shared.

I to am sadden by the news about Sparky. I known how mush a person can get attach to a pet as if they are a member of your family. LOL LOL

Jim,

I too am so sorry to hear of your loss. As one whose only children have all been four legged, I can sooooo relate. The only consolation I've ever found that salves the wound is the realization that the only way to miss the pain is to miss the dance. I've had so many wonderful partners over the years that I'd surely never have wanted to miss that.

One of my little pom girls is named Faith. My wife had lost her once in a lifetime dog, another little girl pom named Miss T and I kept telling her that she had to have faith that God would mend her broken heart. I adore Faith but she can't ever be Miss T in my wife's eyes but she did help to heal the pain.

Whenever I experience loss or am troubled by all the unfortunate recent circumstances that we see swirling around us, I find comfort in Paul's words in Romans 8:18. Perhaps you will as well.

Hi, Jim! I am very disappointed about these straight days of thunderstorm after thunderstorm!!!! I've had very pathetic blooms on my Gemini, because the storms keep hammering away, the buds open before they're ready instead of the slow release that sunshine brings. Alas no gorgeous blooms for Sue. I am very disappointed. Reminds me that one can't control the weather wreaking havoc. My Penny Lane usually has very sweet blossoms but because of the rain, like all my other roses, they lose their shape when the rain and wind throws its fury at them. Time to make rose petal jam again, LOL! since all my blooms (no matter the kind of rose I've got) have already been squashed by the rain. Lincoln is amazing. Even when the flower has dropped all of its petals, its fallen petals still hold this incredible fragrance. I am also dreading an onslaught of Blackspot because we've had no sunshine for days! I need that blazing sun. Hopefully your Platinum will recover nicely (grow lots of substitute canes) with the DrammaticK. You mentioned you were going to try that alfalfa tea? That should really give it a nice boost. Any improvements with Sue's eyesight? I am also praying for this.

My son recorded some of the old time radio shows on an MP3 player for me. I loved many of the shows that you mention ... and did someone mention Fred Allen, with his Allen's Alley and all of the characters thereon? His and Bob Hope's humour were somewhat sharper, and on occasion somewhat more risquÃÂ©, that was Fibber McGee and Molly or Jack Benny and Mary Livingstone. With radio ... you paint your own pictures (says this addict of our national radio system). We didn't get TV through western Canada till the early 50s. Once just before that a group of us Univ. students were travelling from Saskatoon through Christmas en route to a post-Christmas Christian/missionary/world concerns conference in Kansas when the bus made a late-evening stop at a roadhouse somewhere in n. Minnesota. There was some discussion of whether anyone would get off to stretch legs, but closeted and more or less comfortable under our coats as we were, no one seemed much interested ... ... but when someone went into the bar and came back to announce at the door of the bus that "They have TV!" ... ... you should have seen the (wingless) coats fly! ole joyful

I thank all of you for your special thoughts.I thank Lan for helping me to get back on the KT. After so many years of being here, I feel like you are family to me. I am thankful for my family,dear friends and my Church for helping me to go through this time. It was learned through autopsy that Tally died peacefully in her sleep from a pulmonary emboli (blood clot) that traveled from her lung to her heart. Below is a link to pictures on facebook from her Celebration of Life held on Saturday at her home in Galveston; it would have been her 60th birthday. It was made public so that all who knew her could see her home and garden. sue and i will really miss sparky! she was like a child to us. sparky gave us so much comfort and love. i'm alittle choked up, so, i'll write later.

Thank you so much Harold for your "Lots of Love" (LOL) for Jim. Boxofrox, I told Jim that you are "so Magic with the words of comfort and healing!!!!". Boxofrox, your words had me all choked up too! Beautiful bouquet and beautiful words and comfort. I really, really appreciate the Romans 8:18 verse for Jim and many huge hugs to you!

Jim, Harold and Boxofrox a friend of mine from France, Maureen, this morning had coincidentally sent me a lovely song. I thought of you all (Boxofrox's Romans verse and the lovely church images in particular! convinced me to place it here) and especially about Sparky and hope that every beloved pet child can dream these wonderful dreams as they enter Rainbow Bridge. I bet our beloved pet angels would love to play in pastures so green and heavenly 'til we all meet again... Here's to Sparky! She too is sending her comfort to encourage you, Jim, in all these tough times.

I am sorry to hear about your dog Jim,its a shame they can't live as long as us. Your dog will be up there in heaven with my two dog friends, Laura 1 and Laura 2 who were grandmother and grand daughter. My last Laura lived almost 16 years too.

Jim, I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your sweet dog. That time comes to all of us who share our lives with these wonderful creatures and the pain is tremendous. I know it's too soon to think about this now, but it did help me to adopt another animal from a shelter who needed love and a good home. It will never replace your loved one, because every animal is unique and special, but it does bring life and love into your home again.

I wish you and your wife all the best at this difficult time.

thanks karen and ingrid for the kind words! we still have our other dog Candy and will probably get her another playmate in the future.
we are feeling alittle better each day, we know sparky is in a special painfree place now.
we are getting a snow-storm today, so, far about 3 1/2 inches has fallen.
