It looks like a pepper forming. However, my thought is that it is so late to start peppers, as they are heat-loving vegetables. I'm not familiar with temps in your zone at this time of year, but normally in our zone 10, Sunset Zone 23-24, pepper seeds would normally be planted in Apr, May and June. My ancho and poblano types are still trying to turn completely red. One plant that looks like a Christmas tree has multiple small 1 inch size hot peppers that are in yellow, orange and red - all doing nicely. Yes - then, I think your little plant is producing fruit, but it may take some time for it to grow to full size. Also, in warm climates, peppers can become perennial. Bejay

My nikkos bloom every year, a trick my mom likes to do though is to apply some high phosphate fertilizers once the current blooms are done with (and the plant ready to set buds for next yr's bloom)...she uses the Viagro colorburst - around mid/late July - one good soaking and that's it...then make sure you overwinter the plant well (say you are in zone 6/6b)...dont fertilizer the plant during the fall, winter...check the soil once every two weeks during winter, make sure it is not totally dried...or else your plant will die.. pay attention to the last frost day in your area, you can unwrap the plant a week or two before the last frost date, and if the nite temps drop UNDER 40 F, YOU MUST cover up the plant with some black plastic bag the evening before - a large lawn garbage bag will do...wake up the plant with waters, nice sunshine, warmer temps, and a good dose of fertilizer - osmocote..or something similar..if you want blue blooms - drench the crown of the plant (the soil, roots, never the leaves) with aluminum sulfate solution - 1 TABLEspoon per gallon - use 1 gallon per plant (make sure the soil is moist before the drench)...repeat the drench one more time two weeks later...and that should get you blue blooms all summer (unless your soil is very loamy, clayish and alkaline - that's not a problem for Jersey soil)...I know folks apply aluminum sulfate more often - say 3 or 4 applications as indicated above - but i like to do as few as possible..my aunt in Missouri has clay and alkaline soil, she applies alum sulfate twice a season like above but...if the blooms are pink, she would use a recipe of 1 TEAspoon of alum sulfate per gallon, and applies to the nikkos once a week until the new blooms are blooming with pale baby blues.. Nikkos are very easy to grow - never let it dry out, it is not very sun and heat tolerant and will not do well with hot winds, direct afternoon hot sun.. have fun.

asolo: As a troubleshooting step a while back I filled the tub partly with tap water - 4 inches deep or so. Obviously the stopper was in the drain(LOL). When the washer started to discharge I let it fill a bit more and then pulled the plug. I believe there was no smell when I did this. You would think that if the washer was causing the problem it would be apparent since I was hanging right over the tub - and discharge water. What I find odd - regarding the vent as the source of the problem is why it only smells bad for the first run. That one I can't come up with a logical explanation. sparky823: We were told about the trap under the washer quite some time ago and it's something we check every so often. I'm not gonna lie to you and say I've done it recently or even this year (2010). But, after all the effort of getting down and dirty with it and cleaning it out, and even running the HE cleaner products, didn't really eliminate the problem. The first time I pulled the trap off the odour ( if there was one) was nothing like the aroma forthcoming after running a load. I want to run a load and observe what happens when a more substantial amount of water has to drain. I might be a day or two getting to that though as I'm just getting ready to lay flooring in my living room, dining room and entrance hall. I'll suggest Tide Powder to DW, we're ok with Tide... I have clear access to all of the drain pipe to the main stack that come from the laundry, and at least know where the vent pipe is located. Is there anything I can do to/with those? Thanks for your replies. I think I could handle installing this myself. So if it's not mentioned in the NEC does that mean it's fair game? I would think it would mention something. As far as electrical in the closet, it's pretty low voltage. All that will be plugged in are DTV multiswitch, 12 volt dsl modem, router, camera sequencer, 12v cameras, phone 110 block, alarm.
