Well I tried Chrome previously and can't remember exactly why, but I ended up deleting it completely. I just downloaded it again, and unless I'm missing something, don't see that it is anything I want to use. How do you bookmark things anyway? It sure looks stripped down. I don't even know what version I got. There are no things up at the top like with other browsers...ie file, edit, bookmarks, tools, help. I'm lost and unless it is something quite simple that I am missing, I'm over it once again. I don't see anything great about it, at least not yet. Urlee, I'm glad you are happy to have the ads gone. I saw that ruling and didn't think about the exodus. Ugh. I'm glad my son is fully vaccinated... so he can't get what they'll be carrying around. As to homeschooling, I only hope those who do, find ways to socialize the child(ren). A big part of school is the social aspect. My son comes in contact with all kinds of people he might not otherwise see. I think about kids who are even less well off and how much access might be blocked for them. Public school is a great equalizer. We're lucky that he attends one that is so well above in curriculum, I never thought about that which he was missing. His school has no football team, but the kids can play at other schools, or if you are in band, march at other schools. So my son marches where I attended-back before magnet schools. My son's current magent school is much more like my high school was. What is my school is like now? Oy. It's a much wilder ride, and I'm glad we are only there after hours and on weekends. A taste is enough. I'm glad he meets all walks of society there, but he'd never have seen what else there is if he hadn't stepped outside of his circle. Kids need to meet and know all kinds of people so they're well adjusted adults. If one homeschools to "protect" them from anything (which is what I hear!), what are they going to do when the child grows up and moves out on their own? I dread to think the possibilities.

I watched the CBS shows and I've watched the Dateline and some of the Dr. Phil. I don't know what to think, other than believing an intruder is the least-likely scenario. Not impossible, but very unlikely, due to the way the note was written, the way the body was discovered, and Burke's interviews shortly after the crime and 18 months after the crime. Burke said he heard his mother come into his room and then go out of it looking for JonBenet, and then he heard her in hysterics (as he said in the interview afterward "going psycho") and just stayed in bed pretending to sleep or trying to sleep, rather than go try to find out what had happened. Picture your own kids. You burst into your 9 year old's room and then just as suddenly depart. You are frantically crying and screaming, alerting your spouse and then placing a 911 call. Your 9 year old doesn't freeze with fear. They don't hide. They also don't come ask you what's wrong. They don't go find dad and ask what's wrong. They just stay in bed and wait. The only reason I can think of for him to do this is either that he was used to the sound of adults "going psycho" in other parts of the house and did not find that unusual/alarming--or he knew what the problem was and was waiting to find out how his parents were going to handle it.

I'm not much of a tv series watcher like I used to be. Our son tells us that we should watch The Americans, because it is very (scarily) realistic in how other hostile countries infiltrate here. Maybe. I do enjoy Big Bang Theory and am looking forward to it's spin-off, Young Sheldon. And, I'm anxiously awaiting the next season of Designated Survivor, which I love and do watch every week. Other than that, I don't watch much tv these days, except for the morning and evening news, and some HGTV (mainly Property Brothers and Fixer Upper). Right now, DH and I and rewatching the tv miniseries, John Adams, which we own. It is so incredibly well-done . . . just fantastic!
