Very slow loading on the THS side past few days

Every forum I visit on the THS side has been loading at a snail's pace the past few days. No problem on the GW side.

Yea ... you finally got your nasturtium blooms! Your tomatoes are progressing nicely. I am VERY jealous of your gourds though ;) My cucuzzi plant doesn't seem to even to thinking about producing yet. That first dark hollyhock looks like the ones I have in the backyard. Unfortunately, I've had a Japanese beetle attack so I'm gonna need to cut them all back, along with the rose bush. Thankfully, they didn't mess with much else. Love the echinacea too. I will have to wait until next year to see blooms on mine.

Cindy- The edging is going in a line along the bottom row of daylilies. It is going to be a divider between the daylily section, which will be mulched, and the bottom grass section which will stay as it is. The daylilies need no help to stay were they are, they are in there very solidly and not going anywhere. I figgure as the roots grow more into the hill they will only get more solid. The bricks I intend have two purposes. One to help hold the hill once the grass is not longer there. Breaks up the rain or anything washing down and slows it down. The second reason is to keep the daylilies properly ID. They are planted closely and should spread. Have you though of the fact that it would be a nightmare to try and dig and divide them in the future? Remember that I said that the daylilies were so close in the plateau that I could no longer get in there? I didn't dig until after bloom. How do you think I easily ID which fans belonged to which daylilies? It was because each had a brick marker at each side. So the actual row was daylily clump (s) brick, daylily, brick and so on. Want to pick up daylily X? Feel along with the shovel until you hit the brick on each side, lift whats in the middle. The bricks could not be seen as they were actually covered by soil made by the earthworms from broken down mulch (worm castings).

do you happen to still have the paper work that came with it like the directions and the instructions manual that will have all your default info in it and how to reset it. If not look on the bottom for the model and google that you should be able to go to the manufacturer site and find the manuals. Did you set up your router originally with it connected to a desktop computer, in other words which pc did you install the software on? The router is setup on the family PC not my Laptop. Unplugging the router (and modem if one) itself from power and powering down all the computers, then power up the modem if you have cable first then after a while power up the router and once it is fully up then power up the various computers, often makes a big difference. I think we have a modem and a router for Xbox and laptops. are you just using the Vista built in firewall? Yes.I'm using the windows firewall. what are you using is it cable or dsl or what for internet? My son says it's cable/DSL internet. have you done all your windows updates? Yes.Except for three optional ones. I'm confused about resetting the router. That would be on the main computer. Will this help my laptop internet connection?

Annie I too would never serve eggs with fish at home...at the time we just took the fastest dishes on the menu as it was late and we were hungry lol! Here they always seem to add an egg onto combo plates served in touristic eateries. Eggs together with a hamburger pattie and chips is common. Never have I ever seen a Caesar salad on a Spanish menu though. Just seems to be unknown over here. As a point of interest, you won't find burgers or sandwiches on restaurant menus here as I've seen in Canada. When you order a hamburger (hamburguesa) you get a meat pattie with vegetables. You have to go to a McD or similar to get the ones in buns, and for a bocadillo....a sandwich made from a baquette you would go to a bar or cafe where they may also have toasted ham & cheese sandwiches. However if you're in the neighbourhood of an English bar or pub you could probably get a sandwich as their food is planned more for British tourists. SharonCb

Lately the THS forums have been up to speed at 8:00 a.m. Eastern time, while you folks on the Left Coast were still asleep, but by noon it's very slow here too. It would be interesting to know the geographic distribution of the regulars on this site: maybe a New Year remodeling frenzy has swept through California....

1st off ....what does THS stand for???

i thought this slow, slow, slow stuff was MY computer.... i have had the at&t guy here and have made innumerable phone calls .... call me embarrassed (GRIN)

Phyl, THS = That Home Site, also known as the Home forums.

This forum (Suggestions) falls under the Garden forums and there's even another called Nature.net. There all part of the Garden Web community. Click on Forums at the top of the page to see all the listings.

Even slower, if that's possible, on THS this morning, yet the garden forum seems fine. Wonder what is going on?

Not much progress after almost 2 weeks ... what's going on?
Nice to have the notice at the top of the pages, but it gets old after seeing it every day and no changes being made...

It's been a more complicated fix then anticipated and we do understand how frustrating this has been for everyone. We're hoping that everything should be resolved this week. We'll keep you updated as things develop.
