Tahitian Sunset photos

Finally, a big flush with lots of blooms and mild weather (90's). It is not an exceptionally long lasting rose, is still in a pot, but seems happier now. It has grown quite a bit and looks like it will be a big bush.

Kentucky-Rose, what a beauty! I always think "orange"when I hear words like "sunset" "tropical" "Tahitian" or "Caribbean". I'm not a fan of orange, but love apricot. Your TS is gorgeous. Great photography as usual. Tahitian Sunset is a pretty rose. Creamy--is the word that comes to my mind when I look at the pics.

Kathy, I really like this one and these are nice photos-reminds me of those popsicles we used to get from the ice cream man when I was a little kid-think they were called Big Sticks ? Anyway they were kind of swirley with different tropical-ish colors. How does this compare with Tuscan Sun ? Are they similar in color?

Kathy, a very different rose than Tuscan Sun. TS has loads of petals, is more heat sensitive and fades quicker, takes longer between flushes--but this last growth spurt and round of blooms is amazing.
Tuscan Sun has more vibrant early-bloom colors, red orange tan, fades to a beautiful pale shade of salmon white that can stay on and look good. Much smaller petal number, though.
There is something to be said for both of them, really.

Beautiful pictures Kathy - and I can atest to the fact that it will be a big bush. Mine is about 4 feet tall and 3 feet wide and disgustingly healthy - tons of new basals, and loads of buds just waiting to open in a few weeks!

I find myself really falling for this rose. I planted it bareroot in spring and it is probably 5' tall, super vigorous, absolutely healthy foliage, and the most exquisite colored fragrant blooms. It is fast becoming my favorite along with the floribunda DayBreaker.
