UPDATE: Incredible Edibles- Seed Clean Out

Hi All,

The envelopes are now all packed, and I am starting to seal them, weigh them and stamp them. I am hoping to have them all out by the middle of next week.I know this swap should have been done by now, but due to the crazy snowy Winter we have been having and a few snags, things got behind. So thank you for being so patient.

Please let me know when they arrive :)

Oh, you are *good* angelady... I had not even considered researching Becky's posting patterns to determine when the list might be posted... verrrrrrry resourceful! :] Well, that pretty much sinks my night-owl boat! lol, and it truly is a good thing, too, as my whole reason for participating in these bigger swaps is to reduce inventory, not replace it. :] I know some of those GOGT seeds will find great homes with the swappers on this thread, and whatever is left will come in handy at N4S. I was feeling a bit low today and was napping. I go outside to get the mail and I see this box tucked between my planter and the side of the house. Joan THANK YOU! You can be late any time. :o) Oh MY! She sent all kinds of goodies. Are you sure we are not long lost sister? She read me like a book. I cheered up right away and forgot I was not feeling well. I immediately went outside to plant the Collards and Brussel Sprouts seedlings she sent. I actually had Collards for lunch today. I have been late and did not put in seeds yet and when I ordered the collard seedlings, they were sold out. I craved Collards and bought them at Whole Foods. I cannot believe what they charge. Now I know why I have a garden. Also included were: A HUGE jar of Pickling Lime A HUGE bag of Mrs. Wages Bread & Butter Pickle Mix Another HUGE package of Spaghetti Sauce Tomato Mix A Package of Freezer Jam Fruit Pectin A beautiful door Hanger that reads~ May our Hearts be filled with Thanksgiving Recipe Cards w/ Pen Memo Pad A Calendar w/ Kittens- You must have seen my email address 2 Packages of Almond Roca- It is my FAV, I swear WOW! She sent her recipes for Pickled Green Beans, Pickled Beets, Chow Chow and Pickled Hot Peppers She sent Bush Green Beans, Cayenne Peppers, Mammoth Table Queen Royal Acorn, Nantes Carrots, Large Red Cherry Tomatoes, Alaska Peas, Sweet Basil, Detroit Dark Red Beets, Giant Noble Spinach~ I have been planting Spinach and ran out, how Joan knew, I have no clue and Nebraska Wedding Tomatoes were on my WISH LIST. I am so glad that you loved your stuff! I had so much fun collecting for this swap the last so many months, and now that it is over, I feel sad! Oh well, I will have to get my fix looking for tomato seeds! I hate how the stores and tv bring on Christmas so early, like the after Labor Day, and then as soon as it is 11:59 pm on Christmas night, everything just ends and there are no more Christmas movies on tv, the radio stops playing Christmas music, you see Valetines Day stuff out on the 26th, and that is depressing. They rush it here so fast, why can't they atleast hold on to the Christmas celebration atleast until New Year's. Anyway, my tree is staying up for a while! From Donna I got! Red Gold Winter Squash, very interesting! Queensdland Blue, Awesome! Sarah Black Tomato ( this tomato is like a "sexy looking one!) Morado Tomato(another black I have been waiting to try! Mayflower Bean (mmmm, sounds yummy) serpente di sicilia edible gourd ( I love Italian seeds!) Pionsett Cuke (almost like pointsettia) snowball cauli, we think alike Black Beauty eggplant, great for my eggplant parm! Evergreen Tomato, another I did not have enough to save for myself Burpees Jubilee Tomato, a nice orange one! Marina di Chioggia pumpkin (anything from Chioggia Italy is always great!) Snowbird Pea (yummy!) Listada Di Gandia (another great Italian seed) Blackberry Lily ( hmm, have to check this one out) Browns Jubilee ( now I have 2 jubilees to compare together) 2 neat ornaments on my tree! a big hearsheys bar that hubby attacked!and now he thinks my seed people are "cool" because of Donnas chocolate bar! an awesome bag of earthworm tea mix and some fertilizing pellets!!! Thanks soo much Donna ! Great mixed bag! Ok, from Nancy I got: Blue Jade Baby Corn (cant wait to try this!) Christmas Lima ( Soooo glad she got me this because I orginally bought some for myself too, then since I had 2 partners I gave my seeds to a partner, so now I have them againfrom Nancy! yeah!) Queen\and Blue Squash cool! Traviata Endive (needed some endive Fava Bean ( want to plant these since they are so hard to find fresh) Orange Master Pomagranite (a very rare and interesting one I want to plant! Cannelli Beans (my favorite dry bean, love my pasta fagiolla!) Mrs. Burns Lemon Basil, awesome! Pesto Basil ( which I make a ton of) lINTZ cHOCOLATE baR YUM! A bag of Seed Savers Exchange runner Cannellinni beans to cook, mmmmmmm! Like I said, my favorite bean, do you think I could save a few to plant? Would that work? Christmas Grapes Tomato, another I gave all mine away and had none left! Black Plum Paste! I cannot wait to make black tomato sauce! Rossa di Chioggia Radichio, probably my faovite! Hi Becky, Just my humble opinion here. I had a lot of season's end seeds to share. I hope that some go to everyone here that participates ~ I also hope that I sent enough to get some to the need 4 seeds charity as well. That was also somewhat my intent as well. I have happily/relieved that I cleaned out my seed box. I am looking forward to getting a few different/new seeds to try as well. I don't need oodles/hordes of seeds back... I mean after all what is the point of cleaning out the excess only to fill it up with excess again? I happily joined your swap because I really wanted too just share my excess of seeds with others whom might not readily have access to what I was growing. Yet they may have an excess of something I could really use.....Does that make sense? I really do need cucumbers, and possibly some sweet corn too... I went through my stuff to grow for this years garden and found that I am seriously lacking in the cucumber/corn department! Any herb seeds would be welcome too. I have on my GW member page a list of stuff I would love to have. I did not get a list too you of stuff that I wanted simply in my excitement / urgency of finally being able to get the seeds on there way to you I simply forgot. >>>lots o' stuff happening around here!!So if in question please peruse my GW member page... Just please remember my yard is a small area to garden, so no pumpkins please... They large or small the plants simply overwhelm my small space ~ Thank you again for hosting such a neat swap!! I am really excited to participate in my first round robin hope it goes well for everyone. I don't get off work unitl late at night so please have a little patience with the going, going, gone on the seeds... 5 more envelopes went out yesterday morning....I cant remember off hand who they were, but when I get my notebook out I may post them...I just want you all to know I am still on the job LOL!!

None went out today because I spent the day at the Tattoo shop ...our 2nd annual family ink day.... :) and got a fresh new outline that I cant wait to see completed...

I will most likely get 3 or 4 more out on Tuesday...and the rest by the end of the week.

Wendy, :-) It's the outline of a Gargoyle surrounded by bare branches and overhead is a full moon with a few clouds. It is seated on a cobblestone type bridge nestled in roses...In a month or so the shading and color will go in, it is shaping up to be a beauty and I can hardly wait for it to be done!!

Okay back to my other love...the seeds...

Okay, I got my seeds today, and I'm confused. I thought this was a Clean-Out Swap, but I'm pretty sure there are more packets in there than what I sent in, LOL! So much for my inventory reduction attempt : )

I'm especially excited about the peppers I received (yeah, I know, it's an addiction, what can I say), the artichokes, which I've never grown before, and the nice selection of herbs. I grow tons of herbs, but a lot of times, I harvest them before they flower, so I don't always end up with seeds for the next year.

Thank you everyone that contributed, and thank you Donna, for doing such an awesome job! I hope you still had some things left over to send to Need4Seed.

I got my seeds today, and like highalttransplant, I was surprised to get such a fat package!

Looks like when I said I didn't care which variety of a plant I wanted, I got several different kinds! I'm all set for eggplants now, that's for sure. :-)

Received my seeds today and I know I will be up all night looking them up. If only spring would come so that I could plant. Oh my gosh! What a selection. I couldn't have done better with a seed catalog. Thank you so much for all your work on this Donna. Thank you everyone for sending in seeds and have a great gardening year.

I am so glad to know that people are receiving and enjoying their seeds!!

By the way....I am holding off on sending in the Need4Seed seeds until after I see how the tomato seeds I sowed this week do, because if they do well I have about a dozen or so more small packets of interesting tomato seed to add to the package!!And I took a count of the seeds for them today....and give or take a dozen maybe(I got distracted while counting LOL)there is 155 packs of seeds....some of them can be repacked into 8-10 packs....and I know at least one of my tomato seed packets that I already added can be repacked to at least 5 nice size packets :) so I think we did well!! :)

I know it is so late here but I was holding off sending the seeds til I could put as many in the envy as possible...now for the last couple of months or so I have been trying to 1. find the address 2. find at least a workable e-mail address.
I lost the Need4Seed address a few months ago ....maybe during a reformatting, maybe not....maybe I never even had it LOL. But at any rate...I would love to get the seeds to Robin at neeed4seed, but the e-mail address I have for her keeps rejecting my e-mail via a daemon failure notice.

So long story still as long. If anyone has the address for need4seed , please send it to me so I can get these seeds to her.
