I THINK I may have found your old post - in kinda a backwards way. I realized a while back that our posts from here appear on Google. That worried me some cause when you post here, you kinda feel you know the people who will be reading it. Anyway, I typed in Baltimore Checkerspot and it gave me 67 pages of places to go. I went through those and found two by "berngirl" but not yours. Then I typed in Baltimore Checkerspot on Gardenweb and it gave me fewer, some of the ones I had already checked and others. I found one that was titled "Chelone Lyonni Hot Lips and Baltimore Checkerspot" posted by Zebz 7 on may 29, 07. Emmayct, you responded to that one a couple of times SO MAYBE that is what you are looking for? I didn't go any further to see if you had more but if you can't find it on here, go to Google and see what you can find. I have used this method a few times and have always found what I was looking for. Sometimes it just takes scanning pages to do so. Hope this helps others, too.

I recall someone who characterized her style as French. She had a red fabric-covered board, I think, above her fireplace, a white painted frame sofa with a print or plaid, yellows, reds, and blues? Can't recall her name, but if you can give more details of your recollection of her room(s), maybe you'll jog someone's memory more.

Susan_2008. You couldn't find your thread because it has long since fallen off the list. Only 67 pages worth of threads are kept "active". "Active" means you can find a thread via the GW search function or by finding it in the list of threads. A thread is tracked by the last time someone posted to it...while it's still active. On the Kitchens Forum, 67 pages means only about two month's worth of threads are "active" Right now, as I type, the last thread on page 67 (which is the next to "fall off") says "...7 follow-ups, last one posted on Wed, Sep 10, 08 at 6:57". Any thread with a "last posted" date/time before that is now gone or "inactive". In the past, this meant you usually couldn't access the thread, even if you had the correct URL. You'd get a "missing file" message. However, sometime around the beginning of this year we discovered that if you have the direct URL you can still access "inactive" threads...not all, mostly those that have at least one post in 2008. You can also still post to it, but it will not re-activate the post. As was the case with your thread, sometimes inactive threads can be found by doing an internet-wide search (i.e., not just GW). If you want to access later, bookmark it!

There is something else... I'll have to think of what it's called... that actually archives stuff on the Internet... AH yes!!! Here it is - the Wayback Machine! (Link below) Use the middle section to type the url of the site. In this case, I think you'd do the url to the KT. There is an advanced search there, too, so you can click on that and see if it lets you put in search words. I put in the url of my web site and it brought up pages from 2002 through current, although on some sites it will go back much further. I didn't start my site until 2002.
