2nd Annual Seed Addicts Swap

I saw a lot of the other swaps were winding down so thought to try another-anybody interested? (Last year's was a huge success but much earlier-hope we can still get good numbers this late.)

Welcome to the 2nd annual Seed Addicts Swap******

This is a seed swap where anything goes (Old/new/flowers/herbs/veggies...). newbies welcome.

These are the rules ....

Mail in a bubble envelope. (Which will be mailed back to you

1) Send me up to 25 packs with the name of the seeds. As usual, send as much info as possible on the seeds... but please no more than two of really common varieties.

2) Please write Seed Addicts Swap on envelope & GW name.

3) As with all of my swaps I will try to send a wonderful mix..

4) Anyone else wanting to donate "Bonus" seeds please lable them as "Bonus" and I will distribute them to other swappers or newbies.

5)Please send in bubble wrap envelopes.. as I will reuse these to send your seeds back.

6) Please include a return address lable and enough postage to return envelope. it will need to be at least as much as it cost to send. Minimum of 60 cents

7) Deadline for mailing to me will be Feb 30,2005 all seed packets need to be sent in by this time.

Please include:

* Return postage

* Address Label

* Garden web name

* List of what you sent and also wish list (maybe youÂll get a wish or two?)

I will return seeds the 1st week in March (or earlier if I can get a lot in early-especially for those southern gardners.)

You will get back the number of seed packs you sent plus bonus seeds from me and any others who contribute extras.

I received mine yesterday! They were all great, but I was especially pleased to see the Soapwort. I had planted some Soapwort, and it sprouted, and then a squirrel or bird dug up all the sprouts. Now I can plant more this weekend. I want to try making soap with it - supposedly it makes a nice shampoo. Becky

I received my goodie bag,wow,i am blow away with all the different seeds i received,i did not send in that many,but i sure did get a lot in return,thank you all for your giving spirit,and Kym,for working so hard on this swap,i know there is no way i could do it. My favorit was the Lavender,i wanted to try this so bad,i did receive a few in my first trade,but they were not for my zone,this time it was, and i just sowed them this morning.Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa One thing i was not sure of,when the swap said commercial seed,i thought we had to buy the seed,so that is what i did,sent in the whole packs,is it proper to send traded commercial seed? At the beggining of this trading-swaping,i thought you should sow every thing some one sent to you,and it was not "nice" to trade a gifted seed,i have since found out,that is what ya all do,ha ha,thus,so many seeds in your stash. I am still not sure how you do the Birthday thing,is it ok, to send small re-packed seeds to you for your Birthdays? Or should the packs be unopened,and bought? Please be careful to send enough stamps for return (and original) I recieved 3 packs this week that probably won't have enough postage to return and one with insufficient postage to me. Please check what it cost to send to me to insure enough postage to return.

Things to watch out for: 2 stamps is usually not enough if you send a lot of packs, large seeds like corn, have a x-large envelope, or use the plastic bubble envelopes(water resistant)or fiber filled padded ones. also some pkts weigh less than other types like plastic baggies.

Cutting sasbe in 1/2 is sometimes sufficient to drop enough weight which is what I will try with those I have already. As well as picking out lighter wt packets (not quality though-I will still send great seeds and wishes when possible).
