Most tomatoes are self seeding in Georgia. Cherry tomatoes are notorius. Have no idea of variety, perhaps a more detailed description of the fruit and vining habits would restrict the field. Huge ' in yesteryears vocabulary usually meant a beefsteak or ox heart type. also , yesteryear, most diseases had yet to be imported. so tomatoes grew in fence rows , hog lots , just about anywhere the soil was lose enough.

I have mulch on various beds in my yard, and they have yet failed to reseed, so they should be okay. The roots will just go down into the soil after germination next year. I do have to say, though, that my 'Cosmis Orange' cosmos did not reseed well. I had some new seed, though, and sowed it in a large pot. It did so much better in that pot than it did in the garden bed. I have tons of seed this year, which I'm including in the seed swap. I think once you get cleome, you have cleome. I bought some years ago in the 90s and it's still reseeding. Doesn't get out of control for me, but it does reseed nicely. Susan

Many English gardens have Russell Lupins as a metre tall flower spike with pea like flowers. They are very popular. Another is Aquilegias also known as granny's bonnets. They are very colourful and redily self seed without becoming a nuisance. I see a suggestion of forget-me-nots but once you sow them they are hard to control and virtually need poisoning to get rid of or a lot of hard work pulling them out. If you would like seeds of the two I have mentioned I may have some left over. Both should be planted soon.

Interesting, the publication by Wright also shows hybrids with Acer platanoides (Norway maple) and Acer negundo (Boxelder maple), as well as Acer saccharinum (Silver maple) and Acer negundo (Boxelder maple). It would be interesting to see such a study replicated, and for a full growth cycle for the hybrids to take place. I live in Utah, and the native Acer grandidentatum (Bigtooth maple, close sugar maple relative) flowers at the same time as the invasive non-native Norway maple in our foothills at about 4,500 ft. Sometimes bees cross-polinate them, I'm sure of it when both trees grow near. Bees still prefer the Norway maple for its showy and nectar rich flowers. Both insects and wind pollinate them, but mostly wind because sometimes it is too cold for bees to work. I have grown some potential hybrids between the Norway and Bigtooth maple, from a Bigtooth maple 'female' tree, and the seedlings were weak, waxy/glossy, and lime green possibly from iron chlorosis. None of those made it after a week...
