Some of these incredible roses will be available to us

next year, some later. Go through them with me and

let me know which ones you would want. (All these

pics are from catalogs by the way).

PORT SUNLIGHT: Pretty orange one, don't you

think? Usually, flat out orange is not for me,

but this one sure is.

WILD EDRIC: Like it!!! Kinda mauve-like and that I love.

STRAWBERRY HILL: Yeah, I can see the strawberry

here. Looks delicious!!!

DARCEY BUSSELL: For those who like the roses red.

PRINCESS ALEXANDRA OF KENT: A must have!!!

This princess belongs in my garden.

CLAIRE AUSTIN: Another must have!!! So very elegant.

MUNSTEAD WOOD: This one is such a rich wine color.

Makes me kinda tipsy just looking at the pic. But gorgeous!!!

APRIL IN PARIS: Love the name!!! This rose looks

very feminine. Nice!!!

CATALINA: Might get this one just because I can

see Catalina Island from where I live. But it looks

alot like Tournament of Roses.

ENCHANTED EVENING: O.K., I'm enchanted

and I'm getting it.

LOVESTRUCK: Nice and colorful. Maybe, baby.

I am under, some kind of spell of the roses.

Well, I hope I've tempted you all. I should'nt be

the only one to suffer, waiting for these to be

available. Let me know!!! Later folks!!!

You need to top the list of evil enablers! And I thought you were nice, lol. I love them all and I don't even like reds.
Where do I sign up? Whose roses are these?

Carla, the first six are new Austin's. Hopefully, most will be
available in the USA next year. And the others,
J&P will be offering. They are awesome new ones though.
I'm already picturing them in the garden. With all the
new ones I've bought this year, where I'll put any others
is a mystery(LOL).

Just got home from the Chicago Botanical Gardens. (More about that later, and some pics, Yay!) The formal rose garden was lovely, just a true wonder. I couldn't find the Austins or the AARS test plots. Started to get grumpy. Had to go on a 10 mile hike to find them. Apparently, the CBG sprays the regular garden, but has the Austins and the AARS test roses in a no-spray area. I know the AARS ones are required to be no-spray. The bad news is that the Austins looked miserable. Very sparse blooms, very scraggly, and very tiny. I can tell that these are not as glorious as they could be, and that's just sad. While the Austins don't appeal to me as much as other roses, they certainly do look like they have potential and it was a little heartbreaking to see them in such rough shape. On the other hand, I saw a "Ruffled lavender floribunda" that looks SPECTACULAR in the test bed.

In my experience the last one that I could grow without difficulty is the "meyer"..lol Some have no problem at all...Wierd, right? But as Mksmth said which is great, definately learn about the "MIXES" first, and then all the other things about cultural needs. The biggest culprit for death of citrus is root rot. Make sure you have your good fertilizer, mix, good containers with drainage holes, good light, and this site at your hands. For me, the easiest to grow when I began was the "calmondin", the "oro blanco", and 'Ponderosa lemon".. The "calamondin" would grow wonderful for me even with a little sun all winter then great in full time summer sun. The "oro blnco" was one that held on to it's leaves and always stayed green, no matter what conditions it has been reasonably subjected to, and the "ponderos", well, a slow grower, but constantly blooming, but boy they hardy as weeds...lol. And Mksmth is right on this too. Once you start, there is no stopping buying trees, especially from where you plan on getting them..lol Good luck and great to have you!

here is the main problem with how the infections are happening in facebook, there are bad or sloppy codes in the facebook application which allows hackers to get into the application and replace code for things that would look like something innocent with something not so innocent. for example you might see that there is a link you think is going to lead you to say someones pictures and you think ok no problem and click on the link well below the surface that click you just did really was not to send you to someones pictures it was instead to send you to a bad site that by visiting alone, some people could get infected or have the pop ups start to hit you that you can not x out of with out installing something on your pc. And there are lots of little applications for facebook and myspace these are written by anyone and you have no idea what they actually wrote into that code. Facebook and myspace really don't care all they want is people they are not real worried about protecting anyone. Which is exactly why they made it so easy to accidentally send out your entire address book, good way to get more people. And why do they want people and addresses? gee hum could it be to harvest information and sell it? So even doing things you think surely will not harm you can, that is what happened to my friend, someone she thought she knew sent her a link, she clicked on it, it was not really a link to someones pictures at all and she got badly infected. This is like the clickjacking we had talked about at one time. there are various methods being used on those social networking sites. In fact if you google facebook virus you will get lots of info as well as directions on exactly how to create them! Lovely. Just be really careful on any of those kinds of sites. Unfortunately a lot of the things that are the infections on those sites are not necessarily ones that your AV will catch. Lots and lots of people have got that dreaded antivirusxp 2009 infection from there and that even has a rootkit in it in some of its forms. The drawer front should not slam against the face of the cabinet, unless the glides used are the super-cheap kind. I usually use full extension ball bearing glides, like Fulterer 5600 or Accuride 3832, pretty standard stuff. When installed properly, the rubber bushing inside the glide takes the slamming impact of a closing drawer. The front should just barely contact the face of the cabinet as the inner metal parts of the glide bump snugly against the rubber stop. When people do sloppy installations, they set the part of the glide too far back inside the cabinet carcase so the glide doesn't close completely before the front of the drawer hits the face frame of the cabinet. After a few hard slams, the front part of the plywood drawer box splits apart. The new soft-close and self-closing glides take the impact away. People are making drawers to a much higher standard today than 10 to 20 years ago. Most standard production cabinets built today have drawers that will outlast the carcases, provided the glides are decent quality and installed properly.

I could definitely go for PORT SUNLIGHT, STRAWBERRY HILL and MUNSTEAD WOOD!! And the J&Ps, well, APRIL IN PARIS is one of my test roses this yr, but it hasn't looked like that at all yet! I want the floribunda "sneak preview" combo they offer on the website of one each of ENCHANTED EVENING, LOVESTRUCK and MARDIS GRAS. And of course... must have that CATALINA!

Oh great! Just great! Now I have to add even MORE roses to my list. I had already put April in Paris and Enchanted Evening on my must haves. I LOVE that picture of Claire Austin and Wild Edric is to die for! I like the picture of Port Sunlight too....and I don't even like orange!
My DH is going to kill me.

wow, those are all real beauties.I would love to have the first one,Orange,,love it and of course the purpleish one.Love purples and mauves,not crazy about reds but like that Munstead Wood.wow.

Darn. With my patience and my old dial up connection I usually don't have the patience to wait for a group of pictures to load. Unfortunately these made it through. Love the Princess and Enchanted Evening is very tempting too. Darn!

Niecey, grass is over rated, lol.
All I know is I am doomed if I continue to hang out here.
My backyard is going to end up as a strip of grass or one huge bed!!!

Thank's Carla, I'll check it out. Cupshaped roses,
lives in Denmark and says he got a hold of it early.
He must have rose grower's connections.
But that one sure is a beauty. I can't wait 'till it's available for us.
