Florence - Yes, we are having a lot of fun with the new camera. It's one of those combination camcorders/cameras and my daughter has been make all kinds of "documentaries" and even a garden tour. Garden 2 Garden - I'm liking the color more and more myself. I remember last year I was a little worried the color would be too strong or too dark, but it seems to fit in very nicely with the other roses in my garden. Organic Garden - I'm sure your Pretty Jessica will start doing something soon. You'll love it once it starts performing. Mine are grafted, and although I'm usually very hesitant to buy a grafted rose in my climate it could possibly explain the difference. Labrea - I love the alyssum too. It's so easy and common, but you just can't beat it as a companion for roses (in my opinion). It blooms non stop from spring to hard freeze and always looks good. Krista - I agree, Austin has some wonderful pink roses. I purchased Eglantyne last year on your recommendation and I really love it too. It was just a tiny band last year, and it's in a bad spot completely shaded and crowded out by an encroaching "The Fairy" but it has given me several exquisite blooms this summer. Randy - I agree, the perfectly shaped blooms can't be beat. It's so old fashioned looking to me, yet blooms non stop. Okay, I'm starting to sound like a commercial for David Austin roses so I'll stop now. I usually do not cut my flowers for bouquets, but since there were so many I went ahead and cut five for the house. My daughter took this picture with her camera:

Well, I checked the status of my camera, and it's really confusing. It was scanned for departure from NY at 12:27am yesterday, and then scanned for arrival at San Carlos, CA at 12:28. How could it have arrived in one minute? Must be a boo-boo! LOL Ron, I wonder if that's what's wrong with my old Sony. It's like the lens just isn't opening. Everything else was functioning. Altho I tried kinda smackin' it few times to see if I could knock something loose or whatever, and now the nightshot light stays on. So, I might've screwed it up more. My son thinks we should put it up on EBay and see if anyone might buy it for parts, since it's obsolete. Can't hurt I guess, and maybe someone else can use it, or fix it. It was a $900 camera! Snowheather, I can't wait to get the new one. I'll post some pics right away. Sounds like you got a good camera. I looked at a few Canons, but that was when I was looking at the DSLRs and once I discovered that I didn't need those, I found the Sony. I guess I've always just like Sonys. My computer is an 8yr old one that's still as good or better than some of the new computers. I just wish Sony's newer ones were better than they seem to be. Not getting good reviews lately. That can wait tho. Can't afford it now anyway! Carol, you're so right. These pics are so grainy! SANKA is really beautiful. That's why I had to try and capture it even with the crappy Kodak!

Pretty sure I don't have voice recording. My one camera, is a Canon A650IS which is a couple of years old. Its been described in reviews as a Canon G7 minus frills. I like the 12 megapixels in it, and size. 6 x zoom. Lately, I use a Canon SX10 IS, with 20 x zoom. Also no voice recording. Would be a nifty feature though. The most important part for me seems to know when I left one grove and am in another. What I do sometimes, is take an image of my palm in-between to indicate the transition, or a note on a note card. But I can see where the voice option would be very streamlined. Seems like most manufacturers have really worked the bugs out of most cameras these days.
