My Ebb Tide First Blooms

Got this bad boy online from Edmunds Roses, came as a big bare root and as soon as it went in the ground it took off, in a little over a month sprouted at least 15 buds ready to open.

Another of Mardi Gras with different buds on different bloom cycles with the newer buds that just open mostly covered in orange and yellow and the older buds turning mostly pinkish.

Another of Scentimental and Sunbright

These next two are hydrangeas the first being a Nikko blue, was a bit worried about the Nikko's that I might have to replace them since I did'nt protect them over the past winter and kept reading how they won't survive a zone 5 winter so kinda relived there all setting out some buds, the other being a Annabelle one of two which the other isn't producing like this one is not to sure why

Ebb Tide is just gorgeous, isn't it? Mine doesn't bloom as continuously as I'd like it to, but hopefully that will improve over the years. Not every rose can be everblooming, and I think we get spoiled. Your pictures are beautiful and it looks as though you have a winner bush.

Beautiful roses, Ebb Tide is a great looking little rose bush. Your hydrangeas look wonderful too, wish I could grow them.

I have three Ebb Tide bushes, and I have noticed that it has taken about two to three years for them to reach their full potential. The blooms have grown larger, darker, and contain more petals as time goes on. I have one ET than is currently producing almost black purple blooms which I'm nuts about. However, our weather hasn't been particular hot, and those blooms do fade and crisp a lot in the heat. I just wish ET was a better cutting rose. It doesn't last at all in the vase for me. I'm hoping my new Twilight Zone, an offspring of ET, may be a little better about this. Just be patient with your new ET. Diane

Back in CT Ebb Tide was very weak and not worth it but I tried it here in Pasadena and after a seemingly good start it went into a funk. I pulled it out and potted it really good and have been feeding it and making sure it gets just the right amount of water and sun and it is doing fine. The blooms are spectacular so it is definitely going back into the perennial garden (replacing Europeana which has been consumed by powdery mildew).

Hi Pauline ~ Falstaff smells really good, strong old-rose. I have to say though that Ebb Tide knocks your socks off. My daughter even counts that as her fave smelling rose. It's right by her bedroom window too, lucky her!

Your roses are beautiful. I love Ebb Tide.I got m ine last year and it blooms pretty much non stop. Love it.All your blooms are very pretty.

My bareroot Ebbie planted this Spring is in the middle of a flush during which it set over SIXTY buds! Yours is beautiful, and I love mine. The onlt thng is that the JB's love it and I will have to cover it.

Congrats on your Ebb Tide, and all your other pretty flowers!

Wow over sixty buds I bet your Ebb Tide is looking real sweet congats on getting so many blooms in a flush and here I thought that fifteen or so on a first flush was something to brag about, Lol
Here are some of mine Double Delight first blooms, the one's I could photograph before the beattles started coming and gobbling up the blooms

I heard the DD is fragant. Also I have hydranga scented candles and ther great. Do you Get scent from the Nikkos? I was thinking of getting them or the endless summer ones.

Hey Sam don't get much of a scent from my nikko's if anything the annabelle's have more of a scent to them and the DD's have a nice scent to them.

Hey, sweet venge, you are northern Illinois, too? Near which city? I am SW of Rockford by about 35 miles.

To be fair, my Ebbie already had it's first flush, and it was only about six blooms. This is it's second flush, already. The JB's do love it, and this morning i covered it in tulle netting. They still managed to nibble the edges of the leaves, a little, but they don't get jammed down inside the blooms and are much easier to knock into my Pail o' Death.

I'm in lake county near round lake beach, yea those beetles sure like to get nice and cozy inside the blooms, don't got a lot of them only about a hand full of beetles but that's still too many wish they would go away and leave my roses alone.

Your roses are beautiful. I especially like the Mardi Gras. My daughter gave me one for Mother's Day. It has been my first attempt at growing a rose and it has turned out great! I love how it blooms continuously.
