It could be over watering, or the soil, could be a heater problem, or draft. or need fresh soil.This is the first place to look. Stush, I think you may have hit it on the nail. I forgot they do like to be crowded. Cut down on watering now for the rest of the winter. How hot is it in the house, Or did you take them out for the sun, they don't like to be moved they don't like to be divided. It sets them back considerable. This is the way to refresh an old plant however. If they are used to be in the shade and you moved the plant well. Keep it out of a draft. I don't know what else to suggest. Stush it is now on your platter.

Might be Take All fungus which has been rampant in central and north Texas for the past several years. Very important to know because currently available fungicides are ineffective, it spreads aggressively where the conditions are right, and unfortunately kills rather than just damaging the grass as the other common fungi pests tend to do. The chlorosis may be due to something else, but is one of the trailing signs of Take-All damage. A lot of good (and some bad) info about this on GW and elsewhere on the Web. Best for me was an article by a hill country extension agent. Can't locate it at the moment, but this commercial video:Take-All Patch - Austin appears to be largely based on that work and is a good starting place for understanding, identification and treatment. Additional symptoms and factors such as fertilizer use and lawn cutting height are covered in the following Alabama cooperative extension services paper. EDIT: The comment in the video that Take-All is primarily a problem in the shade assumes uniform irrigation. Our experience was just the opposite because our "sunny" irrigation circuits ran more frequently/longer than our "shaded" ones and therefore received significantly more alkaline tap water. Sure the amount of sun, humidity, and other factors contribute, but it's the surface pH that dominates in the cause and solution... at least until other effective treatments are developed. There is one thing and one thing only that factors into whether or not your white oil based paint will yellow - and that is daylight. For example, a windowless closet that you keep closed. The two sides of the closet door will literally be two different colors. The inside of the door and all the inside trim will yellow due to lack of exposure to beams of daylight. While the outside of the same closet door looks as fresh and crisply white as the day it was painted. It can be difficult to predict what areas painted with an oil base white will yellow because daylight is hard to track - how much do you need to avoid yellowing, once daylight enters through fenestration how far into the space does it reach, ??? etc. What I would like everyone to do is let go of the urban legends about oil based paint because they simply are not true. Today's oil is not like the oil paint of long ago. Every brand, at every price point of oil base paint has the potential to yellow based on the quantity of daylight that falls on it. Oil based paint is no more durable or scrubbable than the top grade modern water based paints. It fact, it can easily be argued that oil is LESS durable than water-based because at a molecular level it is rigid and tight, is not flexible and cracks under duress. Versus modern water-based resins that are flexible and can expand and contract with substrate. I would never, ever, ever in a million years specify oil for an exterior. Ever. My last house was about 4,000 square feet, 10 foot paneled doors, dentil and detailed moldings throughout, blah, blah, blah. All painted with high gloss white oil-based paint. I would never, ever, ever in a million years specify oil for an interior. Ever. :) Yours truly, funcolors P.S. I had to have two sets of French doors repainted before we put that house on the market. The painters sanded so there was zero gloss left, swept and wiped the doors down, and put one coat of acrylic in the same color of white directly over the old oil paint. I literally broke out in hives over their not wanting to prime first. Did not believe it would work or come out okay. Know what? It was fine. Perfectly fine. The water-based bonded to the deglossed oil like a champ.

I had Graham Thomas and he grew big and never bloomed. One to try is Golden Celebration. I just planted one and it is doing well and actually looks like it will bloom. Hoovb at her Piece of Eden blog has some pics on her blog this month of it. She's in OC. Crepuscule is nice but with bright sun looks kind of faded to me and the same thing with Buff Beauty. Golden Showers did well and bloomed well but the blooms shatter quickly. Abraham Darby has more of an apricot cast but can be grown as a small climber or pillar and is tough as nails in my clay soil.
