New sans I recently bought and received from DH
Dark sans..black coral? I purchased as WM for
only $13.38. Lighter sans is ? DH bought second
sans for an early V. Day present. How did he know?
lol
If anyone has the proper names for me please let
me know.

I bought Black Coral last week, and it looks like your plant on the right. The name on my pot says Sansevieria Black Coral. The store had a second sans and the variety name started with Z. I didn't buy it, so I can't recall the name, sorry. :-/

Welcome and those are some wonderful grown plants. Their names are; Sansevieria trifasciata and Sansevieria trifasciata 'Black Coral. Some times some nurseries uses ZELYANICA. It is disputed and may be to another group. Unknown why. Maybe some one here may add to this.

New Sans, Seibert. g. hahnii & yellow hahnii, spots

For anyone interested I finally separated these hahnii. When I broke them apart the Golden hahnii that produced the hahnii solid gold was connected to the outer hahnii Seibert. The second Golden hahnii came from the first Golden hahnii and the center hahnii Seibert came from the outer hahnii Seibert. I left the two Seibert connected in a pot and separated the Golden Hahnii in two pots.

That is 'Whisper' he was about a 6 or 7-week old kitten when found on the side of I95 healthy(though hungry) and friendly but obviously dumped where he was and could have very easily ran out into I95 traffic as he was on the shoulder of the road with a barrier on the other end of the shoulder. My wife and I and young daughter were on the way to Virginia to visit relatives when we found him. It was a Sunday and no place to bring him so we got attached. My wife is not a big cat person but always has made sure he is provided for and he has been a good companion for us and especially our kids! We had our first light frost yesterday though days are going up into the 70s. I brought most of my plants back inside though not quite all. Still have a large jade and large Sans masoniana at work outside and a couple miscellaneous items. Never enough room to bring them in LOL! That is 'Wagner's Gold', originally from you to my right and a big 'White Striped Giant' hidden behind me to the left. That Amorphophallus 'Shattered Glass' I wrote about in the Aroid forum since it didn't come up until August is also to my right on the floor. Got to get that in better light. Its timing is mixed up and it is actually throwing up a second shoot now(?)!

Crown rot is my biggest problems with hahnii so keeping the crown elevated is always good advise. That said, they seem to grow new pups at soil level or below so some times I have to re-pot razing up the plant a little. Strong Sun light is a natural anti-fungal so come summer time outside vacation is always best for them. Karen, Love your Jade Marginata. Those yellow margins really stand out. I almost lost mine. Crown rot and then out of no where I got two new pups that are growing but ever so slowly due to no mother plant. I guess I'm lucky to have one at all. My hahnii Silver Marginata which I purchased as 'Starlight' has done remarkably well also but the leaves seem to have darken up some being inside thru winter. It really filled out the pot and needs a re-potting asap.

After reading the article, does this mean that the lighter one will darken after time?

Well ET, mine sure did. Some are almost green/black. The new growth is normal and looks great together. Mine are very old.

Stush, start from a leaf a hybrid and it will revert to the mother plant, then you will know what it is from. You may be surprised what comes up. They need warmth to start, however I do mine in July -Sept. Give it a try you have nothing to lose but may gain a new species. Norma

Hello Norma.
I did just that many times when a heavy varigated yellow edged leaf broke off. All I ever got was trifasciata plants which I had to find homes for. Was over come with plants. You can buy nicer bigger plants in the big box stores than it would cost to sent to people.
