This is the fourth spring that I have had them in my garden. I have tried EVERYTHING..interspersed with hand picking them, morning noon & night, and dropping them into a baggie filled with water & a little lemon dish soap, which does kill them. The hand picking alone works fine where I have half a dozen lilies, but I have a 40 foot border that I am thinking I will finally tear out this year. Its devastating, because they were so beautiful 4 years ago. I just can't bear the thought of spending an hour at least twice a day from now until the fall picking & drowning. My biggest fear is that when I rip out the lilies, they will move on to something else. Wondering if anyone has had any luck with companion plantings? I have small clumps in 4-5 places & was thinking about trying turtle heads nearby, which I read on one forum was helpful. Anyone else?

Hello, I'm a 16 year old who lives in North Central Oklahoma. I drink a lot of Red Diamond sweet tea. I buy it every morning at school. I first noticed something was wrong about 3 weeks ago when I realized the tea tasted different. There was a bitterness within the sweetness. I just ignored it and kept drinking it, thinking maybe they just added something new or it was just a bad bottle. After school that day I felt really lightheaded and dizzy. Everything seemed really funny and I couldn't stop laughing. After a few minutes it got to the point to where I couldn't breathe because I was laughing so hard. Finally my friends started slapping me on the back to try to get me to breathe. After it was over, I went to dinner and just ignored what happened. The next week in my 2nd period class, right after I finished half my bottle, I got a weird feeling in my stomach. Like a tickling feeling. The dizzyness came back, and I'd laugh over nothing every few minutes or so. During my 3rd period class the feeling kept strengthening and it moved out of my stomach and into what felt like my lower intestines or something. During this whole time I kept drinking more and more tea (not realizing it was the tea causing it). It just kept getting worse. After about an hour of feeling completely abnormal and laughing hysterically, my nipples became extremely sensitive. When that happened, I got up and ran to the bathroom. My breathing kept speeding up, my heart starting racing. After a minute or two a teacher came in to check on me. He asked if I was alright, but I could barely speak. My speech was slurred. So he walked me downstairs to the office to have the nurse look at me. I kept stumbling and falling because I was feeling really dizzy. I couldn't take 3 steps without falling. When I got down to the office it had gotten to the point to where I was hyperventilating. I was still laughing like a madman and my hands and cheeks had gone numb. I called my parents to come pick me up. The nurse gave me a paper bag to breathe into. I still couldn't stop laughing, and it kept switching back and forth from crying to laughing. I couldn't control myself. Eventually my Dad showed up to take me to the ER. They had to wheel me out of the school on a wheelchair. At the ER, they didn't know what was going on. So they assumed I was on drugs, and so did my parents. And for the record, I've NEVER been on drugs. I won't even drink alcohol. The drug tests came back clean, so they just labeled it as an anxiety attack and told me to go home. I was completely freaked out the rest of the day. And it turned out that a lot of kids at school saw the whole thing, so it was hard to show my face at school the rest of the week. For the next week and a half I noticed that everyday I bought the little bottles of Red Diamond Sweet Tea, the feeling came back. It would stop after about an hour once I stopped drinking the tea. Luckily, I never finished a bottle so the strength of the attack wouldn't get very high. Other people at my school have been getting sick after drinking the tea (but nothing like what I went through. They just complained of feeling sick to their stomach), and everyone has noticed that it smells weird now. The big gallons I have at home don't do this to me, it's just the small bottles. Has anyone else noticed any of these things? Any information would be much appreciated.

Yes, I know the recalls started I think in 2002, then again in 2007 and most recently in 2010. I purchased my oven in late 2007. However never used the self cleaning until last month. And, yes, Thermador is involved now, as is the Safety Commission. The oven cannot be repaired. It burned. And it took down my entire new kitchen with it...I have probably close to 100 grand in damage. The damage went into other rooms as well. All my furniture has been removed, rugs destroyed, wood floors burned. I had the Thermador Pro Grande, 6 burner, all gas, stainless steel. I don't have the exact model as it was on the original manual which the investigators now have. My reason for posting this is to alert people about the possible danger in using the self cleaning on these high end pro style ranges. I know many come without that feature and in fact I paid extra to have it in this one. There might be a reason many manufacturers don't offer the self cleaning mode. It heats up to something like 900 degrees - possibly too hot for residential use. The Safety commission just called me last week for further details. An appointment was scheduled with them and Thermador to come to the house and look at the oven. Thermador never even showed up. The range has now been removed to the fire investigator's evidence room. Perhaps all manufacturers use the same heating element. The problem with Thermador is there is a gap in the insulation and when heated to that degree of heat in the self cleaning mode, it ignites the cabinets, and floors. I am strongly urging anyone who has the range to have Thermador come and check it. This fire just happened but I suspect a recall will be forthcoming.

To really get a good grasp on the dangers of Prometrium you should stop by the FDA website for & check out the Physicians Fact Sheet. Had I known that there was such a huge difference between the Patients Fact List and the Physicians, I would NEVER have begun to take the Prometrium. I suffer from Secondary Amenorhea and took Prometrium for 4mo. I gained 30lbs & became increasingly depressed with crying spells and intense anxiety. I already suffer from depression and it diminished the effectiveness of my current meds. I don't know why my doctor didn't inform me. But she didn't. I am going OFF the Prometrium on the advice of my Psychiatrist. What I mean to say is BE WELL INFORMED BEFORE YOU TAKE ANY MEDICATION. Read below. The most common adverse experiences reported in 5% of patients in all PROMETRIUM Capsules dosage groups studied in this trial(100 mg/day to 400 mg/day) were: dizziness(16%) breast pain(11%), headache(10%), abdominal pain(10%), fatigue(9%), viral infection(7%), abdominal distention(6%), musculoskeletal pain(6%), emotional lability(6%), irritability(5%), upper respiratory tract infection (5%) PRECAUTIONS - General -Patients who have a history of psychic depression should be carefully observed & the drug discontinued if the depression recurs to a serious degree. -The pretreatment physical examination should include special reference to breast & pelvic organs, & Pap smear. -Because progesterone may cause some degree of fluid retention, conditions which might be influenced by this factor, such as epilepsy, migraine, asthma, cardiac or renal dysfunction, require careful observation. -In cases of breakthrough bleeding, as in any cases of irregular bleeding per vaginum, nonfunctional causes should be borne in mind. In cases of undiagnosed vaginal bleeding, adequate diagnostic measures are indicated. -Any possible influence of prolonged progestin therapy on pituitary, ovarian, adrenal, hepatic or uterine functions awaits further study. -Although concomitant use of conjugated estrogens & PROMETRIUM Capsules did not result in a decrease in glucose tolerance, diabetic patients should be carefully observed while receiving estrogen-progestin therapy. -The pathologist should be advised of progestin therapy when relevant specimens are submitted. -Because of the occurrence of thrombotic disorders (thrombophlebitis, pulmonary embolism, retinal thrombosis, & cerebrovascular disorders) in patients taking estrogen-progestin combinations, the physician should be alert to the earliest manifestation of these disorders. -Transient dizziness may occur in some patients. Use caution when driving a motor vehicle or operating machinery. A small percentage of women may experience extreme dizziness and/or drowsiness during initial therapy. For these women, bedtime dosing is advised. WARNINGS -The physician should be alert to the earliest signs of thrombotic disorders (thrombophlebitis, cerebrovascular disorders, pulmonary embolism, & retinal thrombosis). Should any of these occur or be suspected, the drug should be discontinued immediately. -Discontinue medication pending examination if there is sudden partial or complete loss of vision, or if there is a sudden onset of proptosis, diplopia or migraine. If examination reveals papilledema or retinal vascular lesions, medication should be withdrawn. -The administration of any drug to nursing mothers should be done only when clearly necessary since many drugs are excreted in human milk. Detectable amounts of progestin have been identified in the milk of mothers receiving progestins. The effect of this on the nursing infant has not been determined -Retrospective studies of morbidity & mortality in Great Britain & studies of morbidity in the United States have shown a statistically significant association between thrombophlebitis, pulmonary embolism, cerebral thrombosis & embolism, & the use of oral contraceptives. -The estimate of the relative risk of thromboembolism in the study by Vessey & Doll was about seven fold, while Sartwell & associates in the U.S. found a relative risk of 4.4, meaning that the users are several times as likely to undergo thromboembolic disease without evident cause as nonusers. -The American study also indicated that the risk did not persist after discontinuation of administration, & that it was not enhanced by long-continued administration. The American study was not designed to evaluate a difference between products.
