Wow, would you be able to post some full bush shots of Mirandy when it's in full flush? I have a mystery red HT that may be Mirandy and I'm trying to get a lot of comparison shots.... Thanks!
Michelle- Yes, we did get hit with the freeze here. I had quite a bit of dieback. My roses were just starting to break dormancy though, so that helped. I have most of my roses planted in an area where it is naturally protected from the wind. That helped when the heavy winds came earlier in the spring.
nickelmumz- Here are a couple pictures from last fall. Some of the unique things that I have observed about Mirandy are the large amount of new stem breaks (growth) that occurs after each flush--more than most of my other bushes. It also has an unmistakeable sweet rose fragrance which I love. The flowers do not last very long in full sun.

The flowers turn a velvety/blue-purple color when they age. Some people don't like this characteristic of the older red HT's, but I find it gives the garden some unique color. You can always plant a Veteran's Honor or Olympiad if you are looking for a red that holds its color.
OK, I remembered this picture, and saw what must be a Mirandy shrub today. The new growth looked exactly like this. This rules out Mirandy for my mystery red HT. I'm back to it being either Mr. Lincoln or Chrysler Imperial. Someone told me they were sure it couldn't be Mr. Lincoln, but I don't remember who it was or why they thought so. :(
