did you ever hear of a fence? Google it, they work great. But seriously if it were my peppers... there would be one less dog to feed.

as far as animals go i had a funny thing happen the other day. I was getting rid of a few potted plants. one of which was a 7 pot cross. it had a few little peppers left on it and i was just picking them off and tossing them at this stray cat i have been tripping over lately. just playing with him. he chomped into one of them. it looked like he had rabies. it actually foamed at the mouth for a few minutes. I wish i had thought to take a picture cause i doubt he will make the same mistake again

I know Padron cigars good but the Padron pepper not so much.

I "had" a rabbit issue previously until he met Mr. Ghost Pepper. One bite is all it took. He ran around in circles for a second then just took off a/ ran like a track star.

Ha Johnny (Scorpion), yeah, I have a fence, :-P~~~~~ it's temporarily got a gap in it due to the greenhouse construction. Plus, my jerk dogs tend to jump it, especially the one peeing, he steals every single melon once they start to ripen. My BC's jump the stupid thing flat footed, we call them spring loaded dogs.

Boys are such jerks. I had a dog get into a ghost once, she shook her head a bit, and acted silly for a couple of minutes and that was it.

What do you mean Padron pepper not so much? I am addicted to frying them up. Fresh, they aren't so hot, but fried in olive oil, they are pretty tasty.

Always wash your fruit or veges.

You never know what you have sitting on them. Found a snail resting on a small pepper. Imagine just popping that into your mouth.

Hell, people's mouths have more deadly bacteria in'em than dog pee does. Actually, Indians used pee as an antiseptic for wounds. Gandhi drank his own urine for years too.
I never wash my basil, epazote, or rosemary, and I eat tomatoes right off the bush.
I DO wash grocery store stuff to get all that poison and fecal bacteria they put on it.
Bet yer dog licks yer face, doesn't he? Now that's something to be concerned about...

Good point Tom. Yep, and American soldiers during WW2 captured by the Japanese had to drink their own urine to survive. So, it's not deadly... but yuck. I agree, I actually wash store bought veges with soap and water, no manure laden veges for me.

Hahaha, yep, yesterday morning I was yawing and one of my Border Collie's swiped the roof of my mouth with his tongue... YUCK! TYLER! But, it's better than the girls, some of them eat dog poop.. ;-(

Sure on seeds. I want to grow (2015) a few varities that I can take from plant to table. It's hard to get people to eat a white habanero or look at a chocolate scorpion pepper a/ think tasty.

I like the Mini Sweets and Santa Fe for that. They both are tasty and have eye appeal. I particularly the way the SFs ripen (yellow/orange/red in gradients), plus they're not too hot for most.

Santa Fe's are great, I've got one sitting on my desk right now to add to lunch. Although I prefer the Mariachi (which is a type of Santa Fe Grande), mostly because it's about double the size of a regular Santa Fe, but, the downside, my Mariachi's never turn, they stay yellow.

The best way to eat Padrons is to fry them whole in olive oil then salt them.

Hey Tom. Coming along fine, not ready to go yet, but roof is up (still have to put on the ridge cap, our plan wouldn't work, so I purchased the ridge cap designed for the polycarb... now I gotta climb up there to attach). I'm going to try to start putting up plastic (putting up 6mil plastic on the inside to create a air barrier), then I've got to install the heater and shelves.

Be careful. Be sure and have something to crawl on besides the polycarb. Depending on the pitch of the roof, that stuff can be slick.
Prepped my heater last week. Was afraid that the lightning strike we had a few months ago had fried the board. Everything was fine...

We're going to use a sheet of plywood, I don't want to crawl on the polycarb mostly cos of it being corrugated, I would worry about flexing it too much. Roof pitch is very shallow, it's around 1.7:12.

2/12 is easy. 1/4" OSB or BC is light and strong enough for that app. Rope yer driver on, or give DH a catchers mitt. Sucker will slide right off along with screws, bits, etc...
