Wish you all happy spring times.

This is I think sakura or peach maybe:

Common Geranium in the heat:

My roses look surprisingly good this year, covered in buds and healthy so far. I did not expect this, so I am looking forward to a surprisingly good season hopefully if nothing extreme happens:

bgrose, spring is such an exciting time, isn't it? The pink blossoms of the "sakura or peach" are very, very pretty and the photo of the common germanium is really fascinating.

I hope, your roses will continue to do well for you this year after this promising start!

Do you harvest the leaves young or can you do this even when they are old? Mine are now in full shade (I did not anticipate this in early fall, but the sun moves alot). I fear I may not get any flowering heads, but the leaves look great. Would they be edible?

I picked up my order from Lakeside Daylilies yesterday. I was so excited because I got three bonuses: DIAMOND DUSTED BORDERS, HANDSOME ROSS CARTER, AND AGE OF MIRACLES. They are so nice looking. Although every year I think I've picked the prettiest ones, this year I am more excited than ever because I got LEA ANN WILLIAMS, which is a beautiful rose pink with a darker rose eye and gold knobby edge. I saw it at Lakeside's open gardens last year and it was so striking that I knew I would have to get it. Now I just have to find time to plant them. It seems like it is raining constantly.

Hi Kristie and welcome to Colorado from another sort-of newbie (I've been here one fall, winter and this spring). I was just in Southern California - admiring the Statice along the freeway (well, that's not why I went, but it would be funny if it *was* why I went...). Yep, you will have to let go of some of your species unless you want to put a greenhouse on top of that big lawn (I would want to!). Agapanthus was one of my favorites in Arizona. Maybe you can keep it in a pot on the patio - but you'll have to bring it in for the winter - that would be neat or a hassle depending on what you like to do. You will get the same overall look in CS with Alliums although you will only be able to enjoy them for a short time - not the all-season enjoyment of Agapanthus. Still, the Alliums will make you smile and all you have to do is stick them in the ground this fall! Place a companion perennial or annual to grow over/around the fading foliage. You may also fall in love with Oriental Poppies - you are familiar with the Mexican and California Poppies, yes? I was in Manitou Springs last Memorial Day and they were in full bloom and as big as a dinner plate! To my "desert eye", they are exquisite! Have fun and best wishes in your new home.

The goose actually has some kind of nest there. It is hard to see in the pictures, but there is a perimeter of feathers all around where she (I think) is sitting. I couldn't quite get too close to the nest area to take a better shot with the camera I have. She does have a mate somewhere nearby. I just thought it was odd that these birds would put a nest right there in a tree island in the parking lot where there is a lot of traffic during business hours. But, someone at the store must have realized what was going on and put the orange cones out to give the birds at least a little safety and distance from the cars and people.

Nice pictures! I love the pictures of the daisies and the primulas (which look kind of like daisies!). I've never had any luck with them, don't know if it's too hot or humid or what here but yours look nice and healthy!

Love those daisies!! I can't wait for spring to get here. We've got rain again and coooold temps!! Just when the roses were beginning to show some color. I'm so sick of winter!! Thanks for the cheery pics!

Yes, like Beth, my spring is quite COOL. I am not complaining--better than fried buds.

Kathy, I do not know how to classify my zone because I am not expert on climate but I know the exact zone of people posting here because they have put it in their imprint by themselves and it is excellent to see what grows in what zone. It is good information, thanks for good commnets.
