Photo posting tutorial needed, please.

I'm very discouraged. I would love to be able to post some pictures but cannot figure out how to do so. I have read all of the instructions and help pages. They keep saying there will be a browse button on the second page when I post a message but no such browse button comes up. When I hit the preview message the second page comes up with "submit message" and the form for making corrections which has the "Optional Link URL" and "Name of the Link" boxes and the preview message button again. Can any one help me figure this out?

Go to Photobucket.com. Create an account, create an "Album" and upload your photos. Go into your Photobucket "Album". Under each photo there are three boxes. Copy ALL of the text in the box marked "HTML Tag" and paste that text into the "Message:" box here.

Go to Photobucket.com and sign up, it's free. Upload the photos. 'Copy' the HTML code. 'Paste' it in the Message of your post. You will see a code, but when you preview message, you will see your photo's. Christy :)

Photobucket and Tinypic are web hosting sites specifically for photos and videos. They provide the coding for inserting the photos/videos into various other web sites like the KT, blogs, etc. So, no, it's not "stealing bandwidth" from them - it's using them as they intend to be used. If you have a Photobucket account you see plenty of ads when you're in your free albums. If you have a paid-for Photobucket account, it's free of advertisements. You see plenty of ads when you're using Tinypic (see the third screen shot, above), too. Or are you asking if I'm "stealing bandwidth" when I create instructional documents at work? If so, please rest assured that I use no web hosting sites for my screen shots used in my instructional documents. I have a fully licensed copy of FullShot on my computer at work (and I have personally purchased a license for FullShot for my home computer, too, because I sometimes work from home and I use FullShot when I'm doing genealogy research and other stuff). I use FullShot to create the screen shots that I use in my instructional documents, and I simply save them (at home) to an appropriate folder and at work I save them to my space on a network drive. I work for the IT division and am a webmaster for the IT division's Intranet pages. In other words, I'm doing what I am paid to do.

You need to upload the photos directly into the post. When you click into the "Write a comment" box a menu will appear below with a camera icon. When you click that you'll get a dialogue box that allows you to navigate to where the photos are on your computer. You can upload multiple photos into the one post. The uploaded photos will show up in your post before you submit, ie a preview without you having to request a preview.

DEAR SEIL: I TOO NEED SUCH HELP. I CAN NOT EVEN FIND WHAT APRILLE IS REFERRING TO! HECK, I MUST BE TOO OLD FOR THIS COMPUTER STUFF. FORTUNATELY, I CAN STILL TEND MY 44 ROSE BUSHES!

If you want to post one rose at a time, and they are under 61K, you just do a new message,type in your story, hit 'preview' and down under the message box is a 'browse' button, which allows you to find it where you saved it on your computer.
Putting your photos on a website and embedding is a more advanced option. Perhaps you should try the easy way first. That is how I started out.

Pongee, first have your photos saved simply where you can locate each easily by name in a file on your hard drive, maybe named pictures. Then copy off Diane's instructions on your printer. Go to photobucket.com and check it out.

To do what Diane says simply position your mouse over the middle code that says "HTML tag" and left click. That will copy the text for you. If you're only copying one picture log out of photobucket and in the message part right here, right click and where it says paste, highlight that with your mouse and then you'll be left clicking on that and it'll insert your photo here in the message window. You can type your words before or after you paste your picture in.

I hope this clarifies it for you and hope to see your photos. Or does this confuse you more? Try it out and see, photobucket is free.

Diane's intstruction for using photobucket and using the html tag worked. But the other method using the browser button...i didn't get one..

Posting does seems difficult at first, but once you get started it becomes very easy.
First step is to find a photo place where you can store your pictures,and make sure it is free.
Beside photobucket, there is also flickr.

Thanks everyone. I'm checking these both out. The problem is I'm not getting a browse button to click on when I preview my message. It comes up with "Terms of Service" "Businesses Using the Forums" and "Submit Message". Nowhere does it say "Browse".

Sorry, it's Angel Face. This rose drives me nuts. It was one I inherited from my mom so it has sentimental value but the dang thing is the worst black spot magnet in the bed. I don't know how it survives every winter because it spends half the season defoliated. But with all the loses I took this year this ones doing great. It's leafed out all over. I'd shovel prune it but mom loved it and I'm afraid she haunt me if I do lol. The blooms are lovely and the scent is fabulous, of course, so I guess I'll hang on to it.

What gorgeous roses, excellent photos. I'll bet it smelled great all through there with these in bloom:)
