Oh I am so so sorry to hear that your plants were damaged..mm cooked cabbage, that is not good. I have some tip damage, showed up in a couple days.. rest not sure. You need better advise than I can give..gosh feel bad for you.

Glad you are getting a warm green house, nice size. Hope it will keep your plants warm. Teens, boy that is cold. LEt us know how your plants do.. Hope you had a nice holiday season.

Have you been out to your greenhouse again to see how your plants are doing? Hope they are not damaged too bad and will leaf out in the spring.

I don't remember from last year on going into dormacy. Was my first year. think, leaves just dropped, yellow. But with this cold temps at night now, I have yellow/brown fried leaves. black ones, green leaves coming off. Not sure what is or how will I know if they are dormant. Also some are putting out new leaves..so confused on this one.

With any luck, your plumeria experienced Sudden Dormancy Onset and will be fine this spring.

It's not a pretty sight. Almost every plumie has tip damage, many really bad. I haven't decided whether to cut them back or not. Some look like they be self limiting and will just shrivel at the ends, others are going soft along the length of the stem and might be a lost cause. I'm so upset. I wish the new GH was finished already. The framing is up but the panels and electric work still need to be done. This has not been a good winter for my plants so far. BTW Happy New Year to everyone.

Shalom Karyn1 - I feel your pain. It drives me nuts to see wind burned leaves on my plumerias. I can never forget the damage caused by the freeze we had at the beginning of last year. But looking back at all the pictures posted by GW members brings me back to reality that I still do LOVE growing plumerias :)

My heart hurts for you that you have so much damage to your plants and many bad. yes, let the ones who have damage hopefully dry..ones rotting, thats tough. Not fair. Hope the new gh goes up quickly. Like Kasie said so sorry.

Karyn, IÂm sorry to hear you had more than just sudden leaf loss. Watch the tips carefully. Any that show signs of rot need to be cut down to an area where there is clean rot free tissue.

My buds got frost on them this fall. We had those really warm weather and I pulled them out to get some sunshine and forgot to bring them in. So sad I didn't get to see any blooms this fall.

So, I'll take some of your Plumies off your hand for you... :)

Good and bad news. Many just had a couple inches of shriveled stem at the tips and that will eventually fall off. Some of the others are just nasty and are seeping at all the leaf nodes. I've cut the rotted sections and dusted those but I think they're a lost cause.

Hi Karyn1 - the leaf scar underneath the soil can still produce new growth in the potted plumies. I am nursing a bunch of 5 gallon buckets freeze damaged ones and they're doing quite well. Good luck and happy growing Karyn1.

I don't know what to do here. Now my plants have not gone into dormacy, most are in full leaf and some putting out new leaves and claws, in this cool weather!!! Cause of the low temps, rain and wind, have brought in all my plants in 5 gal. cans.

I have severe tip damage on several but do not know if they are dormant or not, no leaves, died..came off. now do not know if I should put them in a corner and forget about them or not??? water like dormacy, do not remember..did not happen this way last year..

of my 5 plants in the ground cannot protect them cause of winds and rains, am so sad Aztec gold has crystalized and the entire top is white. Expect there tip damage and who knows. Kaulda Wilder in ground is black tips..brown branches. rest in ground not sure, raining. dam. want those to be ok.. Plus have two in large containers with tip damage. Nothing like Karyn, breaks my heart her damage.

Hi Karenb - can you post pictures? My outside plumies have leaf damage from wind (all the time) and many have turn yellow and fallen off. I guess it's going into dormancy. It't been raining on and off here in the Riverside County.

Some have definate black tip damage. Couple have no leaves, but don't know if dormant or not, could have been blown off..So do I water them normal when they are dry? The leaves may be turning yellow from the cold weather, or dormant, don't know..does Bills comment go less leaves, less water?

Rain, lots, suppose to get a half inch tonight. My plants in the ground are so beat up, lot of yellow brown leaves, mostly green, can't protect them, have tried to cover, cause of the rain. If it will quit raining then can protect them. My canopy set up is flat on top, not at a pitch.

Hope the cool weather goes away. Hope you don't have any tip damage.

Hi Karenb - yes, I believe it's less leaves, less water. I too have the black tip on my Singapore. I had that problem last year and somehow it was able to push through and have inflo. And it smells wonderful. Good luck Karenb.

ok thanks...just new to me having plants inside, will figure it out. Says suppose to get warmer, if so will go back outside.

White Sigapore, I have really protected, brought it inside in a 5 gallon container, at all low temps, is a large grafted plant that I want to make it. big huge leaves.

Now pink singapore, is a small one, but my problem child. Is the black fungus on the leaves of singapore catching to other plants? Have had it isolated from the others all summer, and concerned. Afraid to put it with my other plants.
Now looks fine, small leaves, slim trunk, but healthy. Have it in my painting studio/craftroom, near the window on a table, with a very large and tall cutting, I would like to make it

suppose to warm up, nights are the cool ones, suppose to drop tonight. I live in the San Fernando Valley, snow on the mountains, so pretty around us.
