Hazel, so sorry to hear of your total lack of flowers this past year....I certainly hope you get some results in 2008, don't give up on them just yet, surely they deserve another chance?
I too wish for a better year as for several reasons (not plant related) things gave not gone to well for members of my family. As the song says "Things can only get better"....and that goes for all of us I hope.

Hello Gill, Sorry to hear of family problems.
We must of course get everything into perspective. My sister had to stay in hospital this Christmas because of another bad break in her leg. That's three breaks this year from falls due to Parkinsons.
I hope all our problems will be lessened and solved whatever they may be in the coming year.

Sorry to have come over a bit glum, just guess I focussed on the down side of this past year which I must admit we will be glad to see the back of.
Anyway folks on a much much brighter note....our very first granchild is due to make an appearance in late April, so surely that's something for us all to look forward too! Much more positive!

Gill, Sorry to hear about your lack of flowering. Did you try a superbloom fertilizer during your season? How warm is your growing season. My celadines usually flower longer than my other outside plumerias. My singapores have almost all there leaves, though no flowers and it's getting down in the 40's alot. Good luck.

Chris, hi there. Actually it is Hazel that first wrote about her massive lack of flowers, then she and I got into mentioning our other 'downsides' of 2007 which then took over the thread...(sorry Hazel).
Anyway, back to the loss of flowers,....hopefully Hazel will pick up again on this.
I personally only have a Celadine which I grew from a cutting taken in Oz in 2005, which did incidentally flower in 2006. In 2007 it produced only a few, maybe 6 weedy leaves, nothing like the size and strength of the previous years growth. Following an accident I had my arm in a cast so was only able to top dress it's pot when it did eventualy start to grow, so that may not have been enough. It was fed, but that didn't do the job either, but I gave it no bloom booster as it hardly had leaves never mind being able to sprout an inflo! My other 4 'NOID' plumies were seed sown in spring 07, so are still immature although three have grown several branches and are almost as tall and thick as my Celadine.
Hopefully Hazel will get flowers this year as I know she has many plants as you can read in the first msg on here... I'm also hoping for some on my Celadine too as I will be able to give it more TLC come spring!
Last years season was a washout in the UK, literally, we did have a hot spell in April, then it went downhill rapidly with very little sun and tons of rain right through till August, our so called summer was over then and so was the growing season.

Hello Chris, Yes I did use Superthrive throughout the growing season and also used a Bonsai fertilizer with low nightrogen and very high potash content which incidentally I tried out on my begonias which was a disaterous thing to do as the flowers were quite deformed as they did not like the formula one little bit. Fortunately with begonias you always start the tubers next season and have no lasting detriment.
You would have to be very rich to heat greenhouses here in the U.K. to counteract the low temperatures even in summer also to run lighting for the low level light. The growing season is very short at best as Gill said.
Space is another downfall as it is impossible to keep plumerias outside from autumn until early summer so all mine are now indoors with central heating and because of the very low light levels are currently dormant.
I do hope we all get at least one or two to flower this year as it is quite disheartening.
One positive is that I managed to root a cutting from my Celadine and am trying for another offspring! Can't compete with Gill's news though!!!
