I agree it was a most perfect gift on our special day. I can relate SO well to those of you that are growing roses for the first time. I was in EXACTLY those shoes last year. I bought four bare-root David Austins from Wayside and only ONE of them took! sniff! You wouldn't believe what my dh and I went through to create the bed for them if I told you so suffice it to say that I had four roses, three of them dead and he declared we MUST have something to fill those empty holes so we went to the local garden center and splurged on two KO blush bushes. Already established and blooming. That was one of the best purchases ever in my opinion. They are double the size and covered with buds this year. I got another one for Mom's day! hehe The rose in question in the picture is a New Dawn climber. I bought two of those last year in POTS. They were tiny but they were already alive and growing. They have gone bonkers this year and are already nearly up to the roof of my patio. They are also covered with buds. I am SO impatient to see them all in full bloom!! Of all the plants in my garden, nothing ever thrills me as much as my roses when they are blooming.

OITGAD, maybe I can help you with the insertion of pictures. At least I'll try. First you have to upload your pictures to a host site like photobucket or picturetrail. It's really easy to do and when you get them uploaded, photobucket is the easiest, look at your picture and below it will be 3 lines of text. The middle one is the url. Highlight the URL and right click and copy. Come back to the forum and when you have your message typed just right click and paste the URL into the photo. *This is with Photobucket*. If you choose to use another web host then after you upload your picture you will have to right click on the picture and then click properties, copy the URL and then go back to your message and type [img src=this is where you right click and put your URL] where I have put the [ and ] you will need to change those to and that's it. Hit preview and submit. There is a test forum for pictures that you may want to try it in before you use the regular forum and people there who will help you to tell you what you're doing wrong if you have a problem. Patty said what I was going to. I have a memory card reader. It will read maybe 20 different kinds of memory cards from various cameras. Take your Kodak to WallMart or BestBuy and ask a salesperson to check your memory card for compatibility with the memory card readers they have. My camera has a cord that will plug into the camera and then into the computer's USB port. Is that how you used to do it? Me too. Now it's earsier for me to use the memory card reader instead as I have a couple of different cameras. The other possibility is Win10 not have the "drivers" (files) needed for your camera model. In my town I've found more computer savy people at Best Buy than at Staples or WalMart. If your new computer is a laptop you can take it with you to make certain all works. I have done that at BestBuy regarding a power cable. I asked if they matched the best online price (as I'd heard another customer do) and he did a search then and there on the computer by the cash register and took another $10 off the sale price (to match WallMart's price).

To Chris and anyone else seeking reblooming bearded iris in "the middle zones" -- check out Nola's Iris Garden. For their rebloomers, they list to which zone each is considered to have "reliable rebloom". And keep in mind that to remain in "active mode" they need more water and food than once-blooming bearded iris. You actually don't want them planted together, since the culture for rebloomers can lead to rot in the once-bloomers. I ordered quite a few reblooming bearded iris from Nola's when I was back on Long Island -- and the ones I picked did rebloom. Somewhere, I have that list.....but until I find it, search Nola's website. Also do google searches for reblooming bearded iris -- you'll find quite a few lists out there showing to which zones each cultivar has been found to rebloom. And then there's the Reblooming Iris Society group on Facebook. If you join that, you'll find people posting their out-of-season blooms in their locations, mentioning cultivar names. And quite a few are amateur hybridizers, so you may find there something interesting that's not released commercially. :-) ~Christopher
