Well, I bought this plant as a package of seeds from my local Dollar General for $4 or $5. I followed the instructions, including thinning the seedlings as they come up until only one remains. I transplanted one of them though to another pot, and that's the one I currently have. The other one died for some reason. So, yes this IS the one grown from seed. I started it well into, I think, February and it's just starting to flower. Yes, this is the one that has golden eggs when mature. I have mine in a pot that I left outdoors during the growing season. Now, the temperature is dropping in my area which is good for my peach tree, blackberries, blueberries and grape vine, but not my wonder eggplant. I brought it indoors and will soon find a place to keep it while the winter drinks and thrives on my hopeless misery(LOL) and then when the growing season returns, I will stick it back outside along with my palms and cycads.

I know - its the kind of thing I like to do too. Sounds like the deck is okay. I would keep on using it. CD pack failures are irritating, but when you consider that most people have to buy a new mower long before 9 years, it seems very cheap to operate. Even if you have put new wheels and axles on at about the same frequency as the CD packs, you really are not spending any money on it. And, you can still find the rear-bagging kits and deck plates (blank for discharging, blocked for mulching). Other things you may encounter after such long service are crankshaft end seals popping out or just leaking, the need to rebuild the carb and carbon build-up in the exhaust ports and muffler. I always recommend adding Marvel Mystery oil to the gas in addition to your regular oil mix as well as the use of a fuel stabilizer. If you use Ethanol-blended fuel, get the Stabil Marine for Ethanol Fuels. All engines like MMO, in particular the 2-cycles.

Hi everyone, This is my first time posting to this group and I hope it is OK that I jump into this old thread. I am plantsitting five plumeria (Madagascar?) that I rescued from our office just before going into COVID lockdown. In my over-enthusiasm I put them in full sunlight on my terrace for a couple of days, and as a result, they lost almost all of their leaves over the next two weeks (the plants had been growing on our desks in the office for a couple of years and never received any direct sunlight). However, I am happy to say that, after moving them inside, four of them have sent out new leaves and are doing fine. However the fifth one only has two old leaves and no sign of any new leaves. I have noticed that although the rest of that plant seems OK, the top part where the leaf buds should appear is completely dry and brown. Note there is no sign of rotting; it is just dry. Is there anything I can do to stimulate leave growth? Should I try to score the brown part? (note that the thing to the right of the stem is a bamboo stake used to hold it up, in case that isn't clear in the photo)

Have you tried unplugging it for 15 mins or so and trying again? I weird thing happen like that with my range once and the customer service suggested that and it worked. worth a try.
