Yes David & Jqpublic, They are reruns but when you are a gardening addicted person who cares if they are. Each time you watch them you may get some info or ideas you might of missed previous. Six, ten, 20 years ago my ideas and style have changed and sometimes there is inspiration in others styles. So for us who can't get enough...get your coffee ready or Tivo. But you have to admit is the only true garden show showing on HGTV these days.

While they all have similar low temps at some point in the winter, they vary widely in terms of date of last freeze, maximum high temps, rainfall, etc. You've just got a case of pre-germination jitters. Ronny, Kevin is right, it's a washer tumbler. It's not great looking but it has great drainage and peppers really seem to like it. It was also all I had available when this plant came home with me as a 4" starter. The planting mix level has dropped, though- not sure it if I should top it off or wait until the plant is finished producing for the season and then shimmy it out of the container, add more and put the plant back. It seems to be happy right now so I won't be doing anything to disturb it at this time other than the occasional little shovel full of broken down bokashi compost, it appears to like it. Thanks to all for your suggestions, looks like I have some weekend reading to do looking them all up!

I have a neurological disorder that prevents me from retaining information. I knew that wasn't a Finch, and I know what a Waxwing is. I was just so distraught I came here immd and posted. I guess they just saw the trees on the other side. Anyway finally, after about an hour, they were gone. So I'm telling myself they survived. I just hate to see any animal struggle or suffer. Plus I've been waiting on them to come; the new neighbors chopped down all the trees next door, and I'm sure that spooked them. I added a few feeders and they're slowly coming back. But I don't want them returning like that! And they're such beautiful birds. Ok, I'll check out the link, and thanks very much for the replies.
