Both daylilies and lilies are perennial plants, with daylilies growing from a crown, leaves above and roots below, and with lilies from a bulb, with a stalk and leaves above and roots below. In both cases, assuming crown and bulb are OK, the plant is alive and should return next year. The droopy leaves may be what you're seeing because the daylily is going dormant. (Due to drought?) Although it is a bit strange - I'm in PA and I have a garden full of green daylily leaves (and, mostly, brown scapes). Question is, is the crown or bulb OK? Is there anything there in the ground or did something happen, like, say, eaten by a vole or crown rot or something? If you'd let the seeds fall, and if they were to germinate, you'd end up with first-year seedlings next year, which might not even flower. If you plant new daylilies to replace the ones you have/had, they'll come up fuller probably only if you plant bigger plants. :) Allentown is probably zone 6B. Regardless -- I've been told that we should try to get our daylilies in the ground by Labor Day. But that's not to say you can't still plant. You might want to do it fairly soon though. Once the ground freezes, you might want to place rocks or bricks close around the crowns of the new plants, to prevent frost heave over the winter. But before you do any of those things, you probably want to check to see whether your scarlet daylilies are in fact still alive. :) ...scarlet lilies. I sure would like to see a picture, if you have one. Maybe they're lily lilies.

regular ... CHEAP florescent shop lamps are good enough ... how many and how close is the issue ... key word: light intensity ... 2 words.. lol ... plants started now .. Ok so as for now, I think I will leave the pods on the plumeria and loosely wrap some cheesecloth around them and see what happens. I was wondering if anyone has any advice as to help with my other questions. Why the oddly shaped leaves, which you can see one in my picture above. Not every leaf, but more like 3-5 per plant. I read some info regarding leaf stress disorder, which if that is what mine is, it is a very mild case compared to the pictures I saw. Also when my tree blooms, it only gets four blooms at the most, which are replaced sparingly by a couple more once they are spent. And the flowers only last like two days before shriveling up. I realize I need to fertilize, which I don't. But I also read on this forum that there is a debate with success on both sides regarding repotting in the same pot after a root trim, and potting up. I have kept my plumerias in clay pots, which are now crumbling, and I am not sure what to do here. I live in a hot desert where the temps get up into the 120s and stay there. The black florist pots I have seen recommended on here I worry would get way too hot in the sun and cook my roots. Plus I tend to overwater during the summer months, which some argue is hard to do where I live. In addition, my plumerias are inside, and the one in the crumbling clay pot looks like it isn't going to go dormant. It has almost an inch of shiny new growth at the branch tips just from this past month and a half it has been inside. Would it be ok to repot now and then wait a couple weeks before fertilizing, or should I just wait for spring? Thanks all! Cassandra

mr. chokeheart im guessing your friends call you "mya".. i am interested in finding some s. divinorum seedstock(or clones, if you are in my area).. might you be able to accomidate me?? i have no salvia seedstock to trade to you, BUT, i do possess seedstock from a "companion" plant that will repel spider mites and aphids, within about a 12 foot radius(small plant), and also have some good quality indica strains(seedstock) for trade.. thanks for your time, kip.. jeff
