Any way to store brugs besides pots
Comments (11)karyn, we have over wintered them in garbage bags and just tossed in the southwest corner of the garage. Mind you these were huge and no green growth that came out of 32 gallon pots. These we knew were root bound and very little dirt so we added a little dirt to the bag afterwards. At that time we gave them two cups of water and once a month we only gave them a cup, just enough to moisten what little soil. No heat but it was a mild winter, let's say a week below freezing at most. They did just fine. A lot of our nana friends to this route. I'll even admit to taking plastic and putting it up on the walls of the eagle's nest which the kids play on and putting them inside there for the winter. Only the hardiest of them like Frost Pinks, Miss Anna and Charles which to my surprise they did well cut at the soil and heavy black plastic covering them for added protection. If one goes this route make sure you have back ups of these so if they are lost you won't miss them....See MoreDesign Around This #11: Pink for the Present Day
Comments (150)Great colours florantha, that quartzite square tile backsplash is pretty cool. The scarf painting is fab. LWO and florantha - ugh, that kitchen again. The only element you could possibly keep is the stove I think. marcolo - that is exactly right re: bringing the salon into the kitchen. You need a special place to pull it off, agreed. Vlad's apartment could pull it off - crazy high ceilings, great floors, just dress it up. Here are some real photos of the interior of the pink building I posted earlier. Tsarist Russia REALLY embraced pink in all its forms. I should try to do a more budget sensitive new world Russian emigre take on an Imperialist Russian salon/kitchen. But if budget is an issue I'd probably run into problems finding the photos....See MorePink tiles in half bath
Comments (40)Hi again -- Lucky you, that's so easy to work around! With your shade of blush, I love the type of muted colors that Terrilyn posted above in her florals example. Obviously test away, but for me B&W and navy work better with brighter pinks. Since you like the idea of deep blue, I'd consider testing a rich indigo, dark slate blue, or, if you want to go brighter, what I think of as "Southwestern sky" along the lines of this: Here are a few more ideas, but they might be too muted for you. Some other deep blues/ purple-blues (and a soft vintage yellow) Pewter and cloud grey Muted red-violet/plum (see bottom right) or milk chocolate...See MoreWhat’s your most interesting....... besides “ citrus “?
Comments (38)Hey Bob, I tried to message you, but maybe your messaging is turned off? Let me assess what I have when weather gets warmer. I may actually have one spare, rooted Waimea (maybe). Everything is pretty much stored away right now and out of sight. Plus, it's way to cold to ship now anyway. I had a TON of cuttings last fall as I trimmed some and totally dismantled and threw out some HUGE plumerias. But most all went into compost! Some were given away locally. some were under-performers. Shipping is the big hassle for me as it's hard to get to the Post Office either on my way to work or home due to traffic and time crunch. But let's keep in touch. You can try to message me. I think mine is turned on. I'll need your mailing address. I'm sure we could work out a trade!...See Moremomcat2000
