Just relax and enjoy your new beauty!!!

Since it will be rooted you will have an easier time dealing with it adjusting. Make sure its in a good fast draining mix.

Water it well after you pot it up and maybe keep it in the indirect sun for a 4-5 days to acclimate itself to your full sun in So california. It will love the full sun and will really love the warm concrete.

As far as watering, water it again when it dries out. You can go and buy a cheap water meter if you are unsure of how dry it gets. Then water again. They dont like to have wet feet so dont keep it in a saucer. Let it drain and then water when dry. Once you pot it up and get it settled, you can even give it some B-1 and superthrive to help it through somme of the shock from the trama of repotting it .

I would wait a week or so then start to fertilize it. If you are worried, reduce the amount of fertilizer, then after you water several times, then go a head and feed it at reg strenght. You have some great people here on this forum from So Cal...so rest assured, you will have help when u need it.

The key to growing these babies, is to not be a mother hen to them. It is very hard to do, but they will adjust to your conditions and do well for you..dont worry!!!

You will do fine...I will tell you that you will be buying more soon!!! LOL

I have been reading about Jungle Jacks Mini Divine............boy I wish I had known about that one before I ordered my dwarf plant........I want small and Divine sounds like what I would love to have. And it even likes more water........so if I don't kill my first one, I think that I will want a Divine.

My plumie arrived from Hawaii today. I asked my neighbor if he would pot it for me. He thought the end of it was bad, so he pulled it off. Well, that was the roots!!! Thats ok, cause on the side on the end it had some new ones just poking out.........So now its potted and I just went out and watered it more. He told me to only give it 1/2cup of water........but I did as you mentioned. I watered it more.
Now I will wait to see what it will do.

Neysa- keep your watering very light. Ripping the roots can shock the plant and overwatering can cause the stem to rot. Wait for leaves to form as the plant does not need much water if the leaves are not 6" long. It can be very dry, like a cactus and still has water inside to grow leaves and roots. It only needs about a cup of water every 10 days until leaves show up. Most newbies can not stand to not water and thus they kill their plants. Plumerias without leaves can go for months without water as long as the soil does not get bone dry.

He pulled the end of the roots off? Was it soft and rotten?

I hope that he didnt pull of all of the roots and or cut off the bottom...Yikes!!!

Does it have leaves? How do they look?

If it had some roots left on the stem, then you will have to treat it like a new cutting and leave it alone for awhile. Let it acclimate itself to its new surroundings for a few days, then put it on the warm concrete and in the sun.

Hopefully they didnt do any damage to the poor tree. Why did they pull off the bottom area?

Keep us posted on how its doing. It will probably be in shock for awhile. So let it be and leave it alone so it can grow new roots.

Hope it works out for you...re,member, dont go poking around in the soil looking for new roots. Leave it alone for awhile. Let us know if you have leaves and what theyy are doing. That is a good indicator on the health of the tree.

I will have to go out and check it and see how it is doing. I can see it from my bedroom window that it has some small leafs coming out. I try not to go out and bother it, cause I would probably want to water it. Maybe I can go take a picture and post it here............

This is a picture of my Dwarf Singapore Pink the day it arrived from Hawaii and my neighbor planted it for me. I am thinking that there is too much soil in the pot!! Should I brush some off?

Guess I will have to post the pic of how it looks now in another post..........still learning my way around.
I don't see how some have huge pictures and my pictures they said were too large..........

What size pot is it in? Did he cut off the bottom or just pull the brown roots off? Either way, I would treat is as a new cutting. I don't know about others here, but here in Florida I find Dwarf Pink Singapore can be very picky. I almost never lose a Plumeria, but I have lost 2 of them and both were lost due to root root while in the ground. I have one now that is doing great but I dug a big hole and filled that hole with sand from the beach. I checked the roots a few days ago and they look great.

Powderpuff, it is in a gallon pot. Now, he didn't cut off the bottom, he just pulled off the squishy stuff and under it was the roots. He didn't pull anymore when he saw that there were roots.But of course, did pull off some of them when he pulled the stuff off. But maybe the bottom sorta had some rot on it.

It will stay in a pot. I don't really have a place to put it in the ground. Thanks for your comments.

You will be fine, hang in there, give it time. I live in La Verne and have a bunch of plumies including 4 Singapore Whites (the big ones) as well as a dwarf. I love Singaoores, but they are more susceptible to the cold. Your plant will keep it's leaves all year, and when it blooms you will find it blooms most of the year as well.

I wa surprised, I actually ordered through amazon a rooted dwarf Singapore for $15. It came intact leaves and all. I don't know if it came from California or where, I was surprised it had leaves, they usually are cut off.

Give it time. Listen to Bill he knows his stuff (Laura too!).

Just wanted to let you know if you look around, you will find plumerias in people's yards all over in this area. I just noticed a bunch up in Azusa this last weekend (on my way to Azusa Library with my therapy dog, going to read to the kids)!
