Carolyn your eyes look a little bloodshot are you OK? Ha ha LOL :) I think that if we did not have each other to talk to and to share our plants with we would probably not have so many plants. Being able to share info and make connections has really added to the enjoyment of growing Hoyas. I think as a group we are enablers at times but more often I think we just decide for ourselves that we need this or that plant after seeing a photo or hearing about someoneÂs successes. I know that some of us really have very little space left for more plants but we can't seem to stop making Hoya wish lists and then slowly working our way through them. I made a list last night and it was around 109 species if I remember correctly, a friend sent me their list and it dwarfed mine with a total of almost 400 Hoyas including several duplicates of some hard to find species. Welcome to this great forum, Janet! It really is a special one, isn't it? When I first joined, decorating a home was very easy for me, but I totally stressed out at the very thought of trying to create any tablescape! I've learned so much here since then! My DH is at the opposite end of the spectrum, I think. As good of cook as I am, he's even better! I just wish he had more time to cook for us! He loves gourmet meals and really appreciates my tablescapes (now). But I think what he appreciates most is the other very valuable thing I've learned on this forum . . . that you don't have to spend a lot of money on expensive dishes and things to create a beautiful or fun tablescape; some of the best finds can come from the Goodwill, garage sales, making them yourself or from "shopping" your own home for unexpected things to use. I've always been a bargain hunter and these talented gals here have shown me a whole new set of places to look now. I haven't been around here much for the past month, as our 16 y/o DD was finishing up the last couple of hectic weeks of her school year. I'm married and we have two kids, although no grandbabies yet. Our oldest will be 26 this summer. His Army unit was just deployed to Afghanistan two days ago. Energy rater, we're in Murfreesboro, TN, about 30 miles east of Nashville. My husband and I are both from this area and since we're building on property that's been in the family for 30+ years, we don't plan on ever selling so yes, we are investing in doing what we can to make this house as energy efficient and tight as possible within our budget. If that means I don't have cabinets installed in the mud/laundry room right away, then so be it! Closing is this afternoon followed by a meeting with the builder and excavator to situate the house on the lot so we can pour footings next week! Hoping to be in by Christmas... Pardon me while I crash this thread to vent. Today's main vent is tangentially related to kitchens: we designed an eat-in kitchen in our remodel, so our formal dining room is now a guest room, and the workman I'm venting about is doing finish carpentry in that area. He's taking two days to do what should be about a four-hour job, he's been over two hours late each day, and he's pushing me to pay the balance of the job in cash due to some income restriction/tax dodge that's, frankly, not my business OR my problem. I was mildly sympathetic to his plea, but when he emailed at 9.50am for our 10am appointment to say he'd be here at 11am IF he could find parking; then emailed at noon to whine about not being able to find a spot.....let's just say my sympathy dried right up. Today's minor vent: we've been at substantial completion on our kitchen-plus job since December 2014, GC has done about half the punchlist and the longer he waits to do the rest (and get paid his retainer), the more problems crop up: a tile might be lifting off the bathroom floor, a kitchen cabinet door is hanging improperly, we suspect the bathroom vent is not quite doing its job because there's a musty smell that takes a while to build up but is definitely there. Will this danged job EVER end???????

Plumie, The tag said California Sunset from Jungle Jacks. Been told its a Penang Peach offspring. Hope it helps.

LOL! It only gets worse! Do you realize there are Plumaholics that have over 300?! I try to keep my addiction under control, but still it's over 50. I completely admire the person that who will come forward and say, "I have one Plumeria, and that is enough". Honestly, there is just something so magical about these plants and the fact they have such a variety of color and scent... and those darn leaves are so appealing!!!

I welcome you to our ever growing club. Relax and enjoy the insanity.. it's a lifelong ride!!!!

A friend of mine gave me one cutting about a year and a half ago and that was it. I told her I would probably kill it cause I am bad at attempting to start plants. But she said I wouldn't. Well she was right. This year I counted and I now have 16 of them and they are all healthy. Hope they will bloom this year.
