Actually there are 3 search boxes on that page, only one of which is the correct one to use. The one to use is just below the list of threads there on page one, and it defaults to just searching that forum. There is also one at the very top in the green banner, and that is not one to use, because as you said, it searches all of the many forums and brings up all of their posts. There is also one at the very bottom, just 'above' the green banner and that is also not to be used if wanting to search just the Rate and Review Forum. Here is a bit more explanation about the Instructions and it covers where the right search box is found. Special Instructions for the Forum It would certainly be nice if the 2 boxes that do not apply to searching that forum were removed. I know a lot of members don't likely find the right one, which results in multiple threads being started. Remy had come up with the idea for some FAQ (frequently asked questions) for the forum and a thread was started for it. She volunteered to try and get them together with the help of input from members. Okay. I put in her name in the top search box, but I got every trade and other message out there for her on GW. So maybe she doesn't have a rate and review yet. I just wish they had it like the old forum where the rate & review itself had a search box. I put other people's names in there, along with "rate & review," and I still got all kinds of other posts, messages, etc. Thanks for your help, though. I figured I was doing something wrong. I actually have a link on my Ideabook for my rate & review page. Makes it easier for people to find me. Just click and you're there to review me. :)

I believe that was Vittorio's first post. And for the record, I have never suggested anyone get a test read by Logan Labs. Don't get everyone mixed up here. What I suggested was looking for the free site where people give of their spare time to interpret Logan Labs tests. I'll try to give you a summary of why so many experts left here for different pastures. I realize I'm facing the ban-hammer, but what the heck. Several years ago the local GW Kentucky bluegrass expert, (not allowed to even mention her screen name here anymore), was banned from GW for disagreeing with one of the iVillage moderators. The disagreement was on one of the food forums. That makes sense because these garden forums are subject to all kinds of slander with no moderator intervention. It was a simple disagreement, not a war of words, not even linguistic sparring. Without warning she was banned for life. The garden experts did not take this well. Not only did the experts take her side and abandon this forum, but many (MANY) of the homeowners with lawn problems found another forum. Unfortunately some of the more aggressive members of the new forum came back here and repeatedly announced that the lawn party had moved to the other forum. Not only did iVillage not like that, but the numerous sponsors of this forum really did not like it. iVillage responded by banning the use of the name of the banned member and banning the use of the name of the new forum. So if I tried to use her name in this message, the message would be rejected and erased. This response by iVillage drove still more members away. I have since learned that many of the gurus, who were here on other GW forums when I first joined in 2001, have been banned. I contacted some to find out why and was appalled at the reasons. So I was gone from here for a long time. Then for reasons I won't go into, another lawn forum started which happened to take on the screen name of the lady who was banned here. That was not a coincidence. She was asked first before the naming and, frankly was a little embarrassed by the naming. It just turned out that she happened to pick the coolest screen name around. So that new forum got started in Feb of 2009 and has grown beyond my wildest expectations. It has become the home and haven for thousands of lawn nuts who visit, literally, on a daily basis. And, now, the use of that forum name has been banned at GW. Now I can't fault GW for being concerned about the initial rash of overly enthusiastic members posting messages telling people to leave here and go elsewhere. That's rude and who wants that? In fact I believe it is forbidden by the terms and conditions in just about every forum. But people come to forums to get help. When the best help for reading Logan Labs soil tests happens to be on another forum, well, I guess we can't help you like you would like to be helped here. The fact is that if you want to have a mediocre lawn, you probably don't need a soil test. If you cannot grow grass under any circumstances, then you do need a soil test. And if you want the lawn of the month, or if you want a spectacular lawn for any reason, then you need a test that will tell you the micros. Many MANY thanks to tiemco for sharing his time at this and the other forum. Still, tiemco has his favorite chemistry expertise and stops short of recommending corrections for micronutrients. We all bow to Andy for his expertise on the micronutrients. So Andy, if you come back here, tiemco did not cover the micros on Sammy's soil test.

Yup heathersgarden, that is a blackberry lily. I loved it so much I both collected it from that flower and traded for more. I'm really pleased you liked the tutorial, I was hoping it would be helpful. Hmm in that post of pics the first one is an annual calendula, the second is blackberry lily, the third is gold goblin gaillarida a new personal favorite and the last one is an annual gaillardia called razzle dazzle. Do check out the seed trading forum. Everyone is very nice and I currently have a trades going on my calendula mix and gold goblin gaillardia as well as four o clocks. : )
