I Have Blooms & Inflo's YAY!!

Hi,

I have some blooms wanted to share, so pretty. The first is Pacific Pearl, such a pretty white, and great fragrance. One of my first plants

second blooming is Cealdine given to me, (had 2, one is re-rooting) Such pretty blooms too.

Next is as Bill calls it, Psyco..ha or Gardena. Thought was going to lose this plant, first bloom.

Such a rare color, its a dusty pinky white with a double deep raspberry stripe on the back.

Tonys' India is going to bloom..look at that Cherry bloom coming..wow..

wow this is so neat for me!!! never have had this many bloom..next is Tony's Marino's rainbow, huge inflo..also has a second one behind leaf...both doing well Tony.

last..just bought this one at Armstrong nursery ready to bloom. on the porch for a few days to get used to the heat, from hot house. The name is Rainbow Star.. Looked it up is registered, one from Australia.Is a rainbow of colors yellows, pinks with a cherry red line on the back..cannot wait to see it, has 4 branches.

Also coming is in inflo is Guess this!!! Daisy Wilcox is going to first bloom. one branch put out a false inflo, broke my heart but has 3 branches growing..other branch (V shaped) has a good "bumpy" inflo coming;

plus I am waiting for first bloomof: puu kahea, plasic pink, playful, mystery from neighbor. Plus have pink singapore blooming and Petersons yellow, accross yard.. So so rare for me to do this, have tears, so neat to share.

That is so great, Karen, as you have waited so long for a good flowering summer. Now you can sit back and enjoy your babies. It has been a long road for you from queen of mother hens to yard full of inflos. Along the way you have learned so much about plumies and helped so many newbies with your upbeat determination to get to this place. Congratulations. Bill

These trees have a mind of their own. They can produce branching when an inflo is not even aware it is supposed to be there..LOL Just give it time, fertilize and give full sun annd you should see inflos hopefully this season. Remember some of go for years before we see anything. That is why we are so happy to finslly see these works of nature..giving us a beautiful show for all of our hard work. They dont appear with out help... Patience... Good Luck!!! Laura

Hi Karen B., I did contact Evelyn about the infested cutting as you suggested. She's a very fair and kind lady. She said she will take care of my problem. She mentioned that she will be at the L.A. County Fair in Sept. selling plumeria cuttings. She also mentioned that she will be transporting about 1000 cuttings, some of which will be rooted cuttings. I hope to find out exactly where her exhibit will be at the fair and if I do, I will pass that information on to this forum. Is Sept. kind of late to start cuttings? October is the last month of any warm weather here, then starts cooling down. Well, I shouldn't think about cool weather, we want warm sunny days! Happy growing, Rick

how long for a new inflo to bloom?

I am confident that it depends on specific type of plumeria, sun exposure, fertilizers, etc. But my healthiest plumerias had their inflos first emerge around July 25. Based on how they look now I expect the flowers to open in another week or two. That would be about a month. Proper fertilizing can expedite things. You want a high Phosphate fertilizer (the middle number).

very nice. I had inflos on my velutina show up on July 21st in both 2015 and 2016 - it was like clockwork! This year, one of my ps survived the winter (without any protection) and it was one which hadnt bloomed last year and so it bloomed early this year -

thanks, its so exciting to look out and see the blooms coming. I am also enjoying seeing how the plants grow after the blooms/inflo start, like seeing the side branches start up and how it forces the plant to get taller..so neat I have some now as tall as me!!! ha..YaY and some little guys too.

I also am having to learn how to water my plants in the ground..per what Tony advised me to do. I did not realize having such sandy soil, when I water, goes straight to china..I check its barely moist. So now realize I have to water twice on each plant..water, wait awhile and fill it back up. Now realize that had to be how Celadine's roots died..that threw me..

yes, feels odd, .I have been there so many times. Wanted my plants to bloom so bad. When mine wer't blooming, I bought one that was..so at least I had flowers to look at and show..

I am really looking forward to one plumie to bloom only about 2 1/2'tall, has a small inflo coming. When I got it was about 8 to 10" tall then, with a short V trunk in the ground, rooted, had bloomed. It got black claws in the freeze 2006, seemed to jump start it to grow. , now has about 18" long branches. Went to transplant it in spring, the roots are tiny and thin, but very long..so put it in the ground. All I know on this plant my neighbor, who is a gardner, gave me his wifes plant, made her very angry..Went and got it from the back yard. He insisted I take it, I felt odd..she did not speak to me for a year. SO>>>what is this flower???
Plant is flourshing in the ground..wannna see that bloom.

They are all doing SO well!! Especially Marino's Rainbow, huge inflo indeed!
I bet you talk to them, so beautifully they bloom for you??

You know what?? Now that these are doing so well..... you have time for...... more plumies.....!!!

I have never seen Marino's rainbow bloom, am so looking forward to it putting out so many flowers..So excited.

Do I watch them, talk to them, visit them, check their growth, darn straight!!! ha.. got a lot of first years growing and cuttings. But new ones...always looking, always room for one more or two. ha
