Moonie.. Hi there!!! You are correct that "new" means new...and it probably just had an inlo. When they say two tips ..usually means that it has maybe longer tips and it not that small in the tip department. Sometimes, even when you do have an iflo and we all know that it is usually to branch from there..sometimes it continues to stay with a single tip. Sometimes more that not, you have "mulitple tips" meaning three or four. I have a tree that has six tips. Bill had mentioned back in the past that he has one with 12? Tips are tips..and they will turn into brances soon.especailly now in this season. So i dont worry when i rec one that say "two small tips" I know that they will grow and will be fine. My ETLD bloomed last year and branched off and i had an inflo from the new stem in that same season.. So don't think it cant happen!! : ) It can... Hi Iowaj and all, yes, feels odd, .I have been there so many times. Wanted my plants to bloom so bad. When mine wer't blooming, I bought one that was..so at least I had flowers to look at and show.. I am really looking forward to one plumie to bloom only about 2 1/2'tall, has a small inflo coming. When I got it was about 8 to 10" tall then, with a short V trunk in the ground, rooted, had bloomed. It got black claws in the freeze 2006, seemed to jump start it to grow. , now has about 18" long branches. Went to transplant it in spring, the roots are tiny and thin, but very long..so put it in the ground. All I know on this plant my neighbor, who is a gardner, gave me his wifes plant, made her very angry..Went and got it from the back yard. He insisted I take it, I felt odd..she did not speak to me for a year. SO>>>what is this flower??? Plant is flourshing in the ground..wannna see that bloom. Karen B

Mine formed an infloerecence sometime mid july and now the inflo. is HUGE but not blooming yet. I probably have about a week or two to go, but it is branching out now. Yours should be blooming sometime mid or late september so you might have to bring it in early if temps get cool because temps below 50 might force the plumies to go into dormancy and abort flowers. Laura, Thanks, so complimentary..lol The Hilo Beauty is the mother plant of the one you have, so the flowers should be identical, but who knows with your magic touch. How did you know I had above shots...lol I know how you love to take them yourself.lol I did have to get up high to take some of the pics, the negative of mature or fast growing plants.
