My plumeria is branching out, but no inflos/blooming

I'm new to plumerias. Anyways, I bought one from a nursery, planted it in the ground (in Arizona) and it's been growing fine, but one of the branches is splitting into two and it didn't bloom or have an inflo. Is this normal, and does it mean I will get inflos soon? just wondering :) Thanks.

normal for the first split. Inflos come when the plant is ready to start blooming. After your branches have grown several inches you may see inflos or it may wait a year. Just be patient.

It's not a first split, I don't think. It already had four branches, and one of the four is splitting into two without the inflo x)

I also had another one that is a long seedling and I tie that one to the next one and it is doing well. This happen a couple of months ago. Not sure why but I feel that you can always try to fix it before you need to cut it. Barb p.s. You can see where it bend but it has healed over.

When it blooms it will branch, or if has enough energy it will pop out a branch. For either to happen it has to be healthy. Are you fertilizing?

1st bloom on my 6 year old plumeria seedling

LatinLady, the seedpod that this seedling came from was on a white NOID plumeria. Sometimes I do see 6 petals, but it is rare. The rest of the blooms off of this seedling have all had 5 pedals. Here is the plumeria where I got this seedling from (mother): And here is an updated photo of the seedling. It looks like more orange/yellow is coming out, maybe due to the heat. Also, this pic is in direct sunlight: Here is a pic of Musk Rainbow, that has similar colors in similar areas on the petals (pink/orange/yellow). Maybe this is the father?

inflo's usually cause splits, b/c the growing tip is no longer there.

if you cut off a tip, it'll usually send out 2-3 new tips.

sometimes it splits b/c it feels its time to branch out.

These trees have a mind of their own. They can produce branching when an inflo is not even aware it is supposed to be there..LOL Just give it time, fertilize and give full sun annd you should see inflos hopefully this season. Remember some of go for years before we see anything. That is why we are so happy to finslly see these works of nature..giving us a beautiful show for all of our hard work. They dont appear with out help...
