When does the actual pepper form?

I have some keystone bells, jalapenos, ancho grande, tabasco and cayenne growing. They are all looking pretty good and several have blossoms. But I'm not seeing a fruit under the blossom. Do peppers grow the flower and only after the flower, does the fruit develop? Should I already see a fruit growing between the flower and the plant itself?
