All my seeds are ones that I bought off eBayUK, so I have no idea as to their actual quality/background, but guess they are just cheap mass produced ones. I'm getting a great deal of pleasure from trying to grow them and thats what counts in my book :) The second batch I sprouted are 'supposedly' named varieties, 'Noble Concubine' and 'Star of Luck', but I now know from reading info on here that you can't get true copies of a particular named DR from seed...it has to be from a grafted plant...correct? However, I shall be more than satisfied with a flower of any type/colour/form....so it's every finger tightly crossed till that happens! Regards to all. Gill.

Ok so as for now, I think I will leave the pods on the plumeria and loosely wrap some cheesecloth around them and see what happens. I was wondering if anyone has any advice as to help with my other questions. Why the oddly shaped leaves, which you can see one in my picture above. Not every leaf, but more like 3-5 per plant. I read some info regarding leaf stress disorder, which if that is what mine is, it is a very mild case compared to the pictures I saw. Also when my tree blooms, it only gets four blooms at the most, which are replaced sparingly by a couple more once they are spent. And the flowers only last like two days before shriveling up. I realize I need to fertilize, which I don't. But I also read on this forum that there is a debate with success on both sides regarding repotting in the same pot after a root trim, and potting up. I have kept my plumerias in clay pots, which are now crumbling, and I am not sure what to do here. I live in a hot desert where the temps get up into the 120s and stay there. The black florist pots I have seen recommended on here I worry would get way too hot in the sun and cook my roots. Plus I tend to overwater during the summer months, which some argue is hard to do where I live. In addition, my plumerias are inside, and the one in the crumbling clay pot looks like it isn't going to go dormant. It has almost an inch of shiny new growth at the branch tips just from this past month and a half it has been inside. Would it be ok to repot now and then wait a couple weeks before fertilizing, or should I just wait for spring? Thanks all! Cassandra

As for the plumeria pudica, I'm not sure, but is that one that does not drop its leaves in winter? I notice in your picture, it looks quite different, the leaves look darker and "bolder"! You are right about wanting more!.. My other adoptee is a one-branched creature with larger leaves on the top. As I've asked in another post, I was hoping, perhaps next spring, to cut the branch into a cutting and start a new one (the propagation bug bites too); or else maybe I should give it another year to show that it too can blossom (It has never). And the needle being on a circular disk that one lifted off of the record and put up, over and back to be held in place above the arm that swung back and forth over the record but didn't move up or down? Our "Party line" phone was a big brown wooden box on the wall with a metal thing like a tulip sticking out of the front into which you talked, and a line with a black tube on the end that hung on a yoke sticking out of the side of the phone, that lifted when you took the receiver off to listen, which connected the phone to the line, by making the contacts with the large batteries inside. If you wanted to call some other person on your line, after listening to see whether the line was busy, you turned a crank on the right side to make the double bells on the front of the phone ring, in a code of short and long rings, which rang in everyone else's phone on the line, and the ones whose code it was answered ... sometimes others did, as well (almost always remaining silent while doing so).
