Want Plumeria, Virginia Beach VA
Comments (4)Hello Everyone... Welcome to the Forum Teresa! I live in Virginia Beach as well...it is very hard to find Plumeria in our area... McDonald Nursery did sell them at one time...several years ago..but i dont believe that they do anymore... The best bet would to buy online like Dave mentioned...better to start out with a rooted Plumeria..but rooting one from cutting is a great joy as well.. Starting with a rooted tree, you will have a better jump start... I agree with Dave in his choices...The DIvine is small more compact growing tree..The Celadine is a true beauty!!! Everyone loves the Celadine..Very easy to start with... these blooms that are most thought of when you think of the typical Lei flower from Hawaii..a true wonderful fragrant tree.... I have used Jungle Jacks in Orange County to order some rooted trees..Florida Colors is another...several to choose...if you need more advice on where to purchase from..im sure others will join in and give you more advice!!! If you would be interested in a cutting to get started...i will be more than happy to give you one....They are in the process of being rooted right now and will take 4-6 weeks to see any progress....so when i do have them established..i will be more than happy to share one with you!!! But if you do want to get a better start..then look into ordering a rooted tree...like Dave mantioned... Take care everyone!! Hi Dave!!! Laura in VB I would be happy to help you.. my email is listed ..so you can contact me... Good luck Teresa.... Welcome to the Forum...See Morewanted: wanted plumeria virginia beach va

Comments (40)Hi Jason!!!! I'm loving your beautiful Jamaican Fire!! Drool, drool. ;-) Kandhi.. I also have the problems of the large trees, but I will manage with a few of my large trees.. I did hang some from my greenhouse this past winter using hooks and keeping them off of the ground. They did just fine... It's sad that I'm starting to think about winter storage again.. It just seemed like we brought them outside.. Ugh!! Denise.. Sounds like fun. Whoooo hooooo! A trip to Hawaii always make one smile.. Lol!! We all love traveling to these islands.. It's the treasure of Mother Nature.. You made me laugh as I pictured you reading this to your hubby. He must think that you aren't that crazy.. Lol just keep this post handy as you aquire more so he can be reminded that you aren't getting to close to my totals.. Lol!! just ask about storage for winter.. You can always let you leaves drop naturally if you like. I have to cut them to prep because of storage reasons. It keep it clean too!! Have fun!! William Some like the those light set ups.. I find my T-5 works great for me keeping my seedlings and other trees active fir me.. It's 4 foot fixture. What part of Virginia are you from?? Nice to see another from the Commonwealth on board!! Dupefl.. I just took a picture for a friend in Florida of my Red Jack.. It's in a three gallon container. I do have it sitting inside a glazed container beside my stairs on the deck.. Red Jack is a compact tree and I really love mine.. It has a sweet fragrance and the coloration is a true red!! My tree has six branches.. Love this beauty !! I'll be back with the picture of my Red Jack... Laura...See MoreCote D'Or Openibg In Virginia Beach, Virginia!!
Comments (21)Hi Andre! Welcome to the group!! it is very special to finally see your first bloom and feel the excitement of growing this in your own garden! Be careful of some of those videos on utube from certain " specialist!!" Some of those do not give the correct information and might steer you in the wrong direction! Just an FYI for you being new. If you need any advise.. the regulars here are very knowledgeable and we all don't mind answering questions! Again, welcome!! Hi Brennan... i usually don't trade or take cuttings unless there is a specific reason to cut, but I do like to help or give out when I have some from breaks or storms knocking them over. Thank you for you interest in my collection. I do have quite a few varieties and I do have a few that are rooting now ( cuttings) Once they have rooted, I'll post here for you and I'll give you one that you don't have in your collection. Many years ago I would cut just to share with friends and I wasn't watching how the overall shape of the tree would be. Now, I'm more sensitive about cutting and trying to have a better balanced/ shaped tree. Have a great day!! Laura...See Moresunseeker53
