What i have been doing the last few days-Pictures
Comments (23)HA HA HA Janice, Just scrool up and read,a camping get together. No Plans, just dreams. I am in Illinois, about 1 hour south west of Chicago. The turkey are fun to look at, but they are a menace like Renie said, they can rip out a hosta in seconds flat, like the deer around here, you just can't keep them at bay,no matter what you try.BECAUSE,we have people out this way that feed them!,so, they are not affraid of people any more.Turkey don't even run any more.Ya just gotta find a way to live in harmony. Heard any thing from Lisa yet? Carol...See MoreWhat a difference a few days make ...
Comments (18)Is it okay if I show you a couple more things? This is Cramoisi Superieur, a frilly red and very nicely scented China. I took the picture by sticking my camera through the chain link fence. I've got the best neighbors! They let me plant things over there when I run out of room in my yard. Look at all the buds! It never stops blooming ... Columbines are wild this year. This is another cross of the yellow 'Hinkleys columbine' and the dark purple 'Little Winkie columbine' ... I didn't even know I had these until I spied something pink deep within the rainforest of 5 ft. tall Larkspurs. They are Byzantine Gladiolas and my friend, Linda M., said she probably passed them along to me. Brave little fellas to show up amongst the giants ... Here is a link that might be useful: More about Byzantine Glads .......See MoreA Few Blooming in the Heat
Comments (9)Wonderful roses, in both your gardens, and how nice to know that some roses can bloom even under the toughest conditions. We've had a miserable week, in the 100's every day, up to 107, which felt even hotter in my concrete and boulder suntrap. I wasn't sure what could possibly survive that. However, here they are:Wild Edric, which perked up when I gave it two drip hoses. White Meidiland - its thick petals help it to tolerate the high temps Deanna Krause - the young bush is ugly but it's willing to bloom in the heat Love Song - the tiny bush has grown very little but I LOVE the blooms! Penstemon blooming right at the edge of a large expanse of brutally hot concrete; it's big enough to park four cars. Not too long ago I thought this crape myrtle was dying, nothing but dead-looking leaves. Let's just say I watered it a lot, but I never expected this in 100+ temperatures in this inhospitable spot....See MoreA few blooms on a very hot day
Comments (8)If it's not hot enough for you outside, you've got Mardi Gra Indian to heat things up. I can just imagine a big clump of that early in the AM......I like the color on Dennis Russell. My Glowing Quasar was nice, but never did produce a lot of scapes. I can only imagine less growth for Dennis Russell.....I also like Lemon Fringed Pastel too. Good form and nice lighter yellow color with an attractive small edge that compliments it perfectly..........Maryl...See Morethe_first_kms2
