Your cutting looks fine, but you didn't get what you paid for and that is wrong. You should at least contact EP and have them reimburse you the difference between a cutting and 3 gallon rooted. I have ordered from them twice and have always been disappointed. Never again for me.

What variety is it? Once the nubs are there at the bottom, it shouldn't take long to root. By adding some bottom heat you will speed up the process.

Thanks Tony, I will contact the EP for reimbursment. The cutting is a celadine, I'll use a heating pad to speed up the process. What temperate can I set the heating pad to, I can set it from 70-100 degrees. I don't want to order from EP again.

So, you didn't use any rooting hormone?? This is the way I learned, and have used, to root cuttings... I dip the cutting in rooting hormone and plant in a pot filled with well draining soil... I use cactus mix and perlite... I use a considerable amount of perlite... you want to make sure that the water can drain because if it's too damp then rot will happen... I'd water it once, after you've done this and provide bottom heat... this will depend on your outdoor temperatures... if the nights are staying above 50 and the days above 70, leaving it on concrete may provide enough bottom heat, otherwise I use a heating pad... others have different methods... this is what I'd suggest for the proper rooting... hope some of this helps...

Thanks Brittany, I did not use the rooting hormone, because it looks like rooting is taking place. I can see little white lines at the bottom where the bumps are. The room that i'm keeping it in stays about 90 degrees in the day, and 80 in the nights. I can't keep it outside tonight, because it is suppose to get to 53 degrees, but it always gets 2-4 degrees colder than they predict. I would like to put it outside on concrete, but i'm afraid to move it, and breaking the roots that are forming. I think that i'll have good luck rooting this one, because it is forming new leaves, and bumps at the end, and does not have a sign of shriveling. I don't see the point in watering, because it just sets up against the cutting, I learned this because the others got rot at the end, and I just used a little water when the soil craked. I'm using the moisture control soil, it has coconut fibers and sphagnam peat moss in it, is this a good soil to use.

I'm thinking about ordering from Florida Colors next, because they have several cuttings that i'm wanting. I think that i've figured out how to root cuttings, because I figured out what killed my others.

Celadine would root in an old T-shirt. No worries about rooting hormone with Celadine. You can get rooted, grafted plants from Florida Colors for the price of cuttings elsewhere. After a couple years, you can take cuttings from those and root them if you don't care for "graftlings." The rootstock Luc uses is very forgiving enabling those who live in less-than-ideal locales to grow the more finicky cultivars.

I couldn't help myself but laugh, about the old t-shirt. I knew that celadine was easy to root, but not this easy. I would like to get cuttings from it, but I know that I can't get them for a while.

Being I have a 6 new grafted plants now from Florida Colors, are they not the best ones to grow, the Grafted plants? am new at growing plumeria.. What happens to grafted plants eventually? That is a lot of money to be spending if they eventually don't do well.

I bought grafted plants from FL Colors in the past and none ever did well at all. I also bought cuttings from ExPlum and most rotted. All the plumeria I now have (about 25 different ones) came from trades, and all did superbly.

I am just going throw another vendor out there that does an amazing job at sending cuttings. Try Maui Plumeria Gardens.
I bought 4 cuttings from there aand they threw in another for free!! All are rooted and one is throwing an inflo!!

I've visited Exotic Plumeria several times and always found them to be a great nursery with very informative and cooperative help. I live close enough so I haven't done any mail order with them but I would be shocked if they didn't stand behind their product. Tell them you are unhappy!

I did tell them when I got cuttings in the mail that were already starting to show rot before they even got planted! They replaced those, and the 2nd batch they sent rotted, then they said basically "sorry you had your replacements"
