Freeze/Frost Forecast NE OK Sat Night/Sun AM

Okiedawn OK Zone 7

I know everyone's probably watching the OU-UT game right now (I am) but hope y'all see this before it is too late to cover up anything you want to protect tonight.

The NWS has issued freeze and frost warnings for parts of Northeastern OK for Saturday night/Sunday morning. Some counties have a Freeze Warning and others have a Frost Advisory. You can see if you are in an affected county by checking the color-coded map and can read your county's forecast going to the county map at the bottom of the linked page and clicking on your county.

Remember that you can get frost, although it usually is patchy, with air temps of around 38 degrees if the other conditions (clear skies, low or no wind, relatively high humidity) are right (or, from a gardener's viewpoint, if the other conditions are wrong).

If you still have warm-season crops growing in NE OK, this may be a bad night for them. Even down here in extreme south-central OK, we are expecting patchy frost in outlying rural areas even though the cities are expected to stay in the low 40s.
