Can you identify this palm?

I was looking for a cyrtostachys renda and they didn't have one, although they said they could get me one.

Meanwhile though, I saw this palm with a very orange stem. The nursery worker said that it keeps that orange whether in sun or shade. It's beautiful, but I would like to know more about it before I buy them. They have 2 and I'm thinking of buying them both. They would be in pots and from what he said they would do fine in diffused light, roof over terrace but open wall.

Any ideas on what it is or how it might do in that situation?

oops, I meant to add that at this nursery they only have common names. The tag translated says it is a Bottle Palm.

The scientific name is Hyophorbe Lagencaulis for a bottle palm but, according to the color this could be an areca vestaria.

That is a coontie, a florida native and member of the cycad family. They are very tough and can take a fairly wide range of growing conditions. Once established they are drought tolerant and need little to no care. Moving them really depends on the size of the plant. Coonties have tubers that can be fairly small on a young plant to very big on a large well established plant. You should be able to scrape away some of the dirt around the base of the plant to get an idea of the size of the tuber. I would start digging a little way away from the base of the plant and work your way inwards in order to make sure you don't damage the tuber. its not a palm it looks like a ti plant/cordyline it looks healthy. maybe repotting, it looks like theres moss or something growing on your soil?

It's a Bottle Palm. Slow growing, so it could be kept in a pot. This one (in the middle) has been in the ground 9 years from a 7-gallon can:

Thanks, I also posted this on my pond forum (AP) and we went through the same ones. I now think it is more likely a form of Spindle Palm Hyophorbe verschffeltii which has more yellow or red on the stalks. Here's a pic:

The leaves on this one look more like the one I saw plus the color. Either one though should do ok in a large pot so I'm going to get it. Thanks, Jonna

Why does this topic come across as "I live in heaven and when i bent over to pick up gold off the street I only got diamonds to big for my pockets!"?
Oh well,another two months of nice weather here..then only six months before another 80f day.

Sorry about the gold vs diamonds feel. I do feel I live in a heavenly place, and I do appreciate it. Some people wouldn't like the heat though, I don't mind heat.

Now, it seems I did something to the pics that keeps them from showing up. I may have changed the name without thinking.

Whichever it is, bottle or spindle, I'm going to give it a try.
