Nick, I've come across a lot of nurseries selling on eBay who will do it. Not for one off divisions and small batches but it's more common for standard sized batches of nursery stock. I'm not saying you're not on to a good thing and by all means take advantage of second chance offers and play the odds as to whether soeone will offer it to. I as pointing out that te benefit isn;t just onew way and there are also definite advantages to to seller in doing this, both in terms of total sale value and time saved. As far as how it is listed on eBay, it is treated as a fixed period, private "buy it now" sale. ie the offer is not displayed on the auction listings. You do, however, get to offer feedback on the sale as per usual and the "buy it now" listing is linked against your feedback in the same way that auction listings are. You don't appear as a buyer on the original auction. I imagine you should be able to check through a seller's feedback history to see whether they have a habit of offering second chance offers by checking their completed listings against the lot numbers in their feedback history. cjwatson, As Nick said second chance offers occur within eBay and are covered by eBay in the same way a standard eBay sale would be. The practice is within eBay's terms of use. eBay has a problem with taking sales outside of eBay.

MsToni, When all the cats are pupated, then move the container outside or put it in the basement. You can move the ones on the paper towel by cutting around them and taping them up in a different place. I currently have chrys on paper towels taped to the siding on my house. The reptile cage will be just great. You really don't need to do a thing for them this winter. Just remember to bring them out when it warms up. It won't hurt your one that has already pupated to wait to be put in the cold. It won't eclose this fall. I have lots of chrys in my laundry room that have not eclosed and that I will be moving outside after all the cats have pupated. Pretty much all of this last generation pupate over the winter. Cathy, it doesn't hurt them to be out in the freezing weather. My chrys were out on my patio all winter. It got down into the single digits here with a horrible ice storm and lots of snow. When it warmed up, the BSTs eclosed just fine. You are right, they do this outside all the time. I have lots of chrys all over my house right now, hanging on the eaves, window frames, etc, and on the trellises and plants in the garden. I'm not going to take any of them in. They will just have to make it on their own, and I'm confident that they will. Sandy

I have grown AWESOME BLOSSOM, BARBARIAN PRINCESS, BENGAL BAY, CANADIAN BORDER PATROL, EXOTIC TREASURE, OPEN MY EYES, PIRATES PATCH and THUNDERATION. I still have BENGAL BAY, EXOTIC TREASURE, PIRATES PATCH and THUNDERATION, all the rest rotted. PP does rot a little each year. EXOTIC TREASURE is the showiest. THUNDERATION is the best all-around plant. It is the only plant in the above group with good rust resistance. Just my experience and may not apply to your zone. Ed

Sorry this is so long, but I work in the medical industry and am in an average of about 30 clinics a month with a wide range of practices including family and specialists. What I find amazing about that article, as well as opinions in this thread is that I used to feel the same way until I saw the other side from a couple of different angles. Sure there are two doctors that I know of personally, that could care less. One is always late coming in and the other purposely over books to extend his revenue. Revenue for his growing pockets is actually his only concern. However, NONE of the other clinics I service over book as a standard practice and still the physicians tend to work not stop from the minute they arrive to the minute they leave; and often times that is long after the staff. In addition to seeing patients, there are tons of things they have to fit in between appointments some of which is factored in but not all of it and before you know it, that 15-20 minute appointment (which is an average of how long a normal appointment takes) has suddenly turned into 30-45. Now granted to always have a two hour wait is not reasonable, but I continuously see where the staff and doctors skip lunch because appointments have run over or they use the time as a means to catch up for the afternoon crowd. Their desire and effort to keep the process moving is there, there's just a lot of variables to take into consideration. So now, I don't believe it's reasonable to expect to be called in within a few minutes of my arrival; it's just not that cut and dry. I don't service HMO clinics, so I can't really say how they work from personal experience but a doctor once told me that due to Obamacare and changes in the industry, they (physician's in general) are no longer seeing the incomes or benefits they used to and they are over worked and underpaid now just like the rest of us.
