I'd water them until water comes out the hole at the base. I'd leave them to absorb water from the base for at least 15 minutes. I would cut back the growth quite a bit, leaving a couple of inches. I'd keep them in a shady area until new growth appears. I'd water them again the next day..and every day or two after that too as needed! I'd rethink their survival situation in 3 weeks or so.

Pictures may come in time. I just got a new camera (old one died after only a couple of years) and haven't set anything up yet for posting pictures. I'm too busy gardening to sit down and fuss with it. I'm not sure the garden looks all that radically different from pictures I posted last year. First how often are you watering your hibiscus, is it a hibiscus thats outside all year or is it a plant that your bringing in in the fall. could be a couple diffrent things I have been growing hibiscus for the past four years I know some and might be able to help.
