(Newbie here) - Jalapeno, Cayenne & my cat ate the leaves

Hi all,

I'm new to the forum and a new hot pepper grower as of the end of January/beginning of February. I started Jalapenos and Cayenne from seed.. the Jalapenos got about 2 weeks jump start on the Cayenne. The Jalapenos had a little accident earlier today with my cat eating the leaves on 3 of my 9 plants. Now they are outside and I am afraid to bring them back in for fear the cat will do worse than the cold outside (although we've had some nice weather here in NY.. still would like to wait another month for them to be out permanently). So.. that being said, the Jalapenos are getting big and have been hardening off prior to the cat incident.. and the Cayennes are in a greenhouse on my patio also.. she didn't get to those leaves. I'm wondering at how many weeks/months does it take to start seeing peppers from the time they were first planted as seeds? Will they bounce back from a cat attack? Any thoughts on the weather.. it's mid 40s at night. Thanks :)
