Very nice Robusta!! Your Robusta will do fine inside in a sunny location. Just make sure you have it planted in a very well draining soil and don't overwater it. Once a month during the winter is plenty.

Your Robusta will grow very fast. You can control the size somewhat by keeping it in a smaller pot, but eventually it will become rootbound and need potted up. A 7 gallon pot should do what you want to do for the next two years.

The yellowing on older fronds is normal. Wait until the chance of frost is over and put it in a partial sun location. Morning sun is best. After a few weeks move it to full sun so it can enjoy the sunshine.

Florida is a mighty fine state to live if you love Palms.
Great weather too.
Keep that Washy outside in the sun when weather conditions allow and a little Miracle-Grow fertilizer ocationally and it should do fine for a while, but don't expect to permanently keep it in a pot because they are not good house plants like other palms. As long as you don't have any more freezing temps. or frost, you can keep it outside now safely.

I plan on moving it outside when the weather permits it, but will the humidity bother it? (It gets quite humid here in the summer on some occasions, but I know it gets rather humid in Florida too, so I dont know haha) I read someplace that they do horribly in humidity.

Robustas grow fine even in the Florida humidity. The humidity prevents them from reaching maximum height though.

I'm a fan of Miami. I reccomend you get some really rare exotic plants going. They could be in pots on a balcony for years.

Miami is almost the warmest part of Florida and you can get away with a lot of different jungle/rainforest plants.
Robustas are a dime a dozen at garden centers down there and are seen in Italy and Australia the same. They're all over, in places where it's not nearly as tropical as Miami.

If the frost danger is over and it was grown in full sun, you probably don't need to gradually introduce it to full sun, especially now that it has been shipped to a northern clime with less intense sunlight. Recently I had some Mule palms shipped from Florida to my place in Southern NM. UPS inexplicably shipped them somewhere else first, so they were in the shipping box for a week. I planted them immediately in blistering full sun (at the advice of the grower), and several weeks later, they are dark green with no burn. Your Robusta can probably take full sun now. What plants would you recommend that I get going? I would love to have a coconut, and since I'm going to be living in Miami, I'm sure I'll have one at some point, but I know they are hard to germinate inside, especially as far north as New York. What plants would you recommend?

I have it outside on my deck now. It had a bout with fungi, and I had to cut off all the fronds except one that was just starting to open up. And I sprayed it daily with some fungicide haha. I think all the sun has really helped the palm bounce back.
