I think spring finally arrived! (with pics)

I took a pictures today while out in the other garden. Radishes were ready to pull, but only 1 cucumber plant came up. lol

Apple and pear trees are starting to load up!

My weeping cherry.

The weeping willow actually started weeping this year.

My largest needle palm.

Hardy hibicus is coming along. This one is in full sun and is ahead of the others.

Still waiting for my mahonia leatherleaf to produce berries.

My birmingham putting out it's first frond of the season.

My brazoria still in a pot. Was going to pick up a larger one at Gary's till I blew the engine in my truck last weekend.

The ferns are loving the rain.

My crimson queen.

Looks great! Early Summer type of weather is finally starting up here tomorrow. This is what I want my plants to have accomplished by Friday...
All the bananas to put out almost an entire leaf
My bougainvillea to start getting a little greener
My white mandevillea to start climbing
My geraniums to start flowering again (all the flowers rotted off because of the endless rain!)
My mexican petunias to green up.

I definitely have some high expectations, but with the 80s forecasted, I think that my plants can get it done! I'm so happy to see that their wont be a chill in the air all day anymore!

Fine pics all, now, kindly send rain over this'away, it's been over a month w'out that heavenly stuff & we've been using the water hose pretty constantly trying to keep things at least on hold. Our cacti & oleanders are no problem but there are places in our yard where the grass looks real bad, at the same time thankful for no tornado activity. 4 pics & added some Carolina palmettos from the Charleston vicinity, just the right size!

Really gorgeous pic, Kathy! The rusty object, the beautiful totem, the huge bleeding heart! I'm like Cindee, have started 2 or 3, but they didn't make it either. I have a friend who has a great one planted next to his brick house, under the overhang part. It is like yours, beautiful, and just gets bigger every year. I'm thinking that they're hardy, IF you can ever get them through the first or second season. Maybe more petting at first, never letting it dry out at all maybe, which might have happened to mine. I might try one in a container next time. In fact, bleeding hearts are one of the reasons I've been planting mainly succulents now lol. ~T

Great job, good choices, uncluttered and fresh. I wouldn't paint the little demilune in the foyer, but I would hang a very tall mirror just a bit narrower than the table. It not only gives you a place to check your lipstick on the way out the door, but throws light back into the room, and opens up the wall to increase the sense of spaciousness. Now that I have seen the whole room, I like the lamp I showed you on the other post even more in the scheme...but since you have a small table to put it on, you might consider something like this floor lamp to furnish the corner and put the light where you need it without taking up space on the table where you want to put down a drink or a book... hmmm...if you think of the cover as bunched up with the pretty print crushed up against your front and your arms inside of that bunched up fabric at what will be the "top" 2 corners then the part facing the comforter is the "inside" of the duvet cover....think of a giant open mouth ready to "eat" the comforter LOL. Yes if you have it bunched and ready to go then someone can just tie the 2 top corners for you as you are standing there ready to essentially "drop" the duvet cover over the comforter right side out. You could lay it down on the floor with it bunched and tie it and then pick it back up w/ your arms back inside the bunch of fabric. I never use ties so not a problem. I am SO glad it was comfy. I love a fresh made up bed. That is why I got a clothes line up...I love the sheets and cases...brought mine in last night seconds before it rained and threw them on the bed...slept all night ! If this still doesn't make sense I will sure send pics asap...camera should be back in a week or so. Caroline

Alex, good luck with everything. I haven't had any rot issues since I amended all my beds with sand and pea gravel. I didn't know Mexican petunias were hardy here but some of my mother's came back and look awesome, now I want some.

Dixieboy, great pics. Me and killer are going to be best friends. Lol. Wish my optunia would bloom, but I end up moving it every year. I think they are where I want them now.

Jim, I noticed yesterday someone on the banana forum had repotted his abyissian. Poor Guy really bruised up the trunk. If they are that tender I not sure if I want one.
