Tune My Mix!

Hey everyone,

I am about to transplant my 2" peat pots into 6" pots to put under some lighting until I can transplant the little buggers outside in late May.

I have planted:

Orange Habs

Bolivian Rainbow

Cayenne

Tabasco

Jalapeno (Early)

Long Red

I have a bunch of planting supplies at the house already, so I was going to make my own potting mix with the following:

1 part sphagnum peat moss

1 part potting SOIL (~80-20 inexpensive potting soil - manure)

1 part sand/vermiculite (~40-60 sand - vermiculite)

I am also going to throw in small amounts of blood meal, bone meal, sulfur, and garden lime.

Any suggestions/changes? This is the first time making my own mix, so I am up for either!

Also, I am planning on container gardening these things due to my zone, and I was planning on using 14" pots for all. Sufficient? Smaller or larger for some of the species?

I appreciate any input. I am trying to learn as much as I can.
