Well, I have been very busy w/ all this "homework" you all gave me! There is so much color variation in pics that it makes deciding difficult. Looking at the pics on HMF, I really like Madame Charles, but I wonder how big it gets and how resistant it is? Spice, unfortunately, appears to be a pinky-white. As for Devoniensis, would you describe it as pinky-white, apricot-white or creamy-white? The Vintage catalog shows D. as about 4 ft tall (the illustrations are great for shape but I don't like relying on them for size), which would be too short to plant between 6 ft tall roses. Many of the OGRs seem to get very large- that is going to limit how many I can get :( Nickel.- It wasn't Vintage that listed that hgt- it was Heirloom. And HMF says 4-10 ft. So many to choose from! I like contrast, so I want a good contrasting color between the 2 reds, and I would also like a rose w/ many petals. 6 ft tall will work fine, taller would be okay IF I can tie it to my deck railings- will that be okay? I need all the help I can get and appreciate all of you taking the time to share your experience w/ me. Brandy

Weeper, I grow one fully double medium to dark pink peony that has no problem with drooping. This is Rozella. The stems are very strong and I have never seen a flower go down on the plant. The foliage is dark green and looks good in the garden for a long time. The plant is vase shaped and fits nicely into the landscape. I took the photo below several years ago. A few more: Fragrant Cloud - more orange than the photo shows. I SO love this rose. The fragrance is strong, and a little odd - took some getting used to. But I love it now, and I'm nuts over this rose. Bella'roma: - this rose is hard to photograph, and she's not a fast repeat bloomer. But her fragrance is hands down, one of my favorites in my garden. Every bloom she gives me is a gift. Young Lycidas - Lisa, he does WONDERFULLY in dry heat! Neptune: A newer rose for me, and this bloom round is one of the most fragrant I've had from her. Lovely fragrance! More of Stainless Steel. I am in awe of the bloom form of this rose (and fragrance too!) Chrysler Imperial - one bloom at a time right now, but each blooms smells like heaven. Tiffany - I threatened her, and she gave me a super fragrant bloom Ok, so my Dusty isn't really fragrant (smells like old ranch dog). But she IS next to a bloom of Fragrant Cloud, and is my best garden companion.

Sautesmom, Rangoon creeper is sweetness itself. One of those sweet smells that triggers your taste buds and you want to eat that sweet-smelling thing. It smells like honeyed sugar. In fact, the long stems are full of honey. You can pinch off the end and suck on it. And it’s gorgeous to boot, such profusion of long-stemmed clusters. They are white when they first bloom, then turn a light pink the next day, which turns a dark pink a day later and it‘s really a crimson before it withers off. Add to all this the fact that the same cluster will have all those different colors due to the staggered bloom time of each flower in the cluster. It‘s the most magnificent riot of smell and beauty.
