I've never seen pequins with stripes like these.

I bought seed from Seeds of Change this year for Bolivian Rainbow. This is what I got. Not at all what was expected. At first I was a bit upset because I was trying to replace my beloved firecracker pequins I had originally bought from Shepherds. My saved seed went bad over the 4 years I didn't have a garden and Shepherds is no more (I was a novice seed saver then and didn't understand how bad humidity is).

Now these guys have grown on me. They look great in pepper vinegar and turn it reddish pink. My husband and I call them tiger peppers because of the stripes. I saved seed, but since these are probably hybrid plants (accidental) I don't expect next year's plants to be true. I do have some extra original seed I can always plant, but maybe I can get a stable open pollinated version. You never know.
