Is this something I should be worried about?

Over the past couple of weeks my passiflora "Blue Eyed Susan" has developed these spots. They seem to start as discoloration then develop into the dead patches that have covered the entire plant. The spots dont grow in size nor really spread on each individual leaf. But they do form on every leaf except extremely new growth. Now, the past month has been rough in terms of weather; lots of wind (yea tornadoes!) and rain. So I am hoping that it is just a matter of physical damage as opposed to bacterial infection...or worse a virus.

Howdy Mike,

To my eyes it looks more like physical damage than anything to worry about. The time to get concerned is when your new growth has issues or you have extreme defoliation. Watch for that, and let us know. I really think your plant is fine...

Cooler night temperatures naturally set off the blooms for most brugmansia that's why they seem to do particularly well in fall and spring compared to the summer months. I give mine bloom booster to help them set more blooms during the summer months. Some varieties will just bloom more during hot nights than others as well. My Miss Emily McKenzie and Mountain Magic and Ila Marie are flushing very steady even though it has been hot and humid even at night whereas some of the others are slowing down. I need to get out and hit them all with some bloom booster but its been too hot to do anything out there lately lol. For more foliage you want nitrogen, for more blooms you want more phosphorus (middle # in the npk ratio on the fertilizer box) Your plants look really lush so they are probably getting plenty of nitrogen. Hi: I don't live in your region, but I think your iris will be OK. New iris for me always shed their original foliage and regrow. They go thru a period where they look absolutely horrible then they rebound just when you start to dispair. Check the rhizomes, and if they are firm and secure in the soil that is a good sign. I don't know what happened in this case, but whenever I see leaves... wilting, I FREAK OUT !!! I had a very bad experience in my first year of growing tomatoes, when ALL the plants wilted. I'm sure, the lack of mulching and spraying fungicide was the cause. I know, sometimes wilting can be fixed, but many times it can NOT. Last year I had a plant that started wilting every 3-4-5-6 days. I watered and everything was fine. Few days later... same thing. I watered again, and everything was fine. [ I used drip irrigation. ] During the summer I used that plant to tell me... when to water. The plant produced very well, and all the other plants were happy with this unusual watering schedule. If I check my notes, I might tell you the variety name. The plant started wilting more often when temperatures were in the 90s. I rotated the pictures.

Mike do the spots start as raised bumps on the leaf surface before they discolor? It's hard to tell from the pic. If so I've seen something very similar affecting foliage in this area but it's usually tree foliage that I've noticed it on. Your plant might very well be suffering from physical damage from the severe weather you've had but if it begins as raised areas on the leaf you might want to post the pics on the Pest & Disease forum. Other then the spots your plant looks really nice, especially the new growth.

Thank you all for the feed back, it's greatly appreciated. I am thankful that it doesn't seem to be anything to be really worried about. I really love this plant and would be heart broken if there was something wrong with it.
