the heck with the stake... here is what i would do ... in October.. after it losses its leaves.. dig it up.. and replant it straight.. and trim off whatever does not allow such ... it either lives or dies ... if i had a nickle to bet.. it was severely root bound from a pot.. and was improperly planted.. and the roots really never went out into the native soil ... and as such.. it has nothing to anchor itself upright .. do you have clay soil .. per chance??? i wish you luck.... get rid of it.. when it losses its appeal .... ken ps: really now.. if it cant anchor itself upright .. then of what purpose is it for you.. to pull it back to plumb.. wont it just keep falling over ????

GL, No, the low, creeping junipers are found like that in their native habitat and are not man-made, so to speak. Although, cultivars are discovered; The 'Mother Lode' juniper occurred at Iseli Nursery after a Juniperus horizonatalis was struck by lightening. These "carpet junipers" also grow in more-or-less open areas in full sun without too much competition from any plants that are overhead. I was speaking of plants like the Weeping Norway spruce, Picea abies 'Pendula'. While I don't know exactly where or how this plant was brought into cultivation, this weeping plant would be at a big disadvantage surrounded by a forest of "normal" Norway spruce. Mike

My brand new master shower does not have a pre sloped pan. They also had a very hard time sloping my mosiac tiles during install(long thin tiles). It looks/works fine now, please tell me it does not need to be redone... If it's new construction and does not meet code, I'd want it to meet code. You'll get a better shower and the installer will learn to follow code. Or you can leave it as is. You may not ever have problems...or you may have problems. The irony? I'm not a tile guy like Bill. Yet I still know code. Why do Bill and I know code? Simply because we're professionals. He in his field, me in mine. We didn't flunk out of cooking school, or get fired from our jobs at the factory, or flunk out of college, and decide as an alternative to set tile or build houses. And if we had flunked out of cooking school, that's cool...as long as we learn about our new job before we pick up a margin trowel and bust open a bag of thinset for the first time. I'd say close to 70% of people in construction build incorrectly. That's inexcusable. When I buy a new car I shouldn't have to learn about internal combustion engines and then visit the plant to make sure the line guys are building my car correctly. Since alesse is a combintion of synthetic progestin and (synthetic) estradiol, I wonder why you attribute any "improvement" to "progesterone?" Alesse is a triphasic oral contraceptive meaning that the pills are three different combinations and each combination is to be taken sequentially. While I don't know the specifics about Alesse most of these types of oral contraceptives have a "low" dose of estrogen along with a "low" dose of progestin in the first group, a higher dose of both drugs in the second, and a lower estrogen dose along with a still higher dose of progestin in the third. This type of pill is not suitable for continuous administration because it depends on your having a "washout" time period at the end of the cycle of pills before you begin on the next package. The difference in progestin dose between the first group of pills and the last is enough to induce the withdrawal bleeding you experienced when you go directly from the pills in the last group to the pills in the first group of the next package. One of the more common and more serious side effects of oral contraceptives is depression. Either estrogen, progestin/progesterone or a combination of the two may cause depression. I would seek medical advice about this. If your doctor doesn't return calls or makes you wait for three months to get assistance, you might need to go looking for a doctor who is more responsive to the needs of his/her patients. Refusal to return calls borders on malpractice and you might wish to report this doctor to your state medical association and/or your insurance company.
